Recognize the "Small" Things
Course 2, Lesson 10 gives writing a new blog as homework. That is why I am writing this. It suggested writing about something you are proud of.
I have always been an insecure person, so pride in myself is not a strong point for me. I am forever working on it. The year 2017 really hit me hard in that area. My self esteem was tested to the extreme. Especially the summer months. I lost my 12 yr old St Bernard, Boomer, in June, My 50 yr old brother, Rick, in July, my 20 yr old kitty, Sammy, in August and my Father, Dick, in September at age 74, after a long battle with Leukemia. To top it all off, I lost my job of 15+ years in October. I am mentioning this, not for pity, but so you understand why I have found the need to celebrate the "little" things.
I am proud of what I did NOT do. I did not get drunk. I did not let depression win. I did not isolate myself. These have all been coping mechanisms of mine in the past. No More.
I am proud of what I DID do. I did use the losses as a source of strength. I poured out determination that I did not know that I had. I kept it together, in a sense. I am here. I am proud of that.
If anyone is interested in seeing the results, feel free to check out my websites. I have one for each passion in my life. Pets, cooking, and determination.

Sometimes it is when times are the most trying we can either sink into depression or find a great strength. I'M m glad you chose the later.
Tried and true

Kris,
So many things to go through in such a short period of time. My heart any prayers go out to you. There is a scripture that comes to mind. Weeping may endure for the night, but Joy cometh in the morning. I pray and wish you much success and blessings in 2018. I too, have lost loved ones and pets, but never in succession without time to at least heal a little bit.
I appreciate you sharing all those loses and may your heart heal as each day passes.
Lisa
Good for you. It would be easy to cave in those circumstances.
So proud of you that you are able to share these things in WA.
I wish you every success.
With Grace and Gratitude
