Amazon Associates Native Ads - April Promotion
The Amazon Associates Program is paying an enhanced 12% commission on qualifying purchases made via their Native Ads Widgets during the month of April.
I have thus far steered clear of any sort of Amazon advertising boxes on my site because I thought that they looked a bit ugly and desperate. At 12%, however, I couldn't resist and I added them in time for April 2017.
There are clear instructions on you Amazon Associates page about how to set up and create the Ads. Basically, you choose the relevant product category, add a default keyword to help generate relevant products, and copy the generated code into your site. I used a plug-in called "Ad Inserter" to get the code on because every time I try to modify my website files directly I almost kill my site! (Thanks WA Support - you are lifesavers!)
I recommend putting the ads (generally 2 rows of 4 products) at the bottom of the post so that it doesn't interfere with the readability of your content.
Anyway, its only been 3 days, but I am already noticing some great results (even if you don't include the enhanced commission rate). I am getting an extra 15-20% clicks each day and the conversion rates for those clicking the ads is much much higher than the text link clicks - at about 20%.
As a percentage of impressions, click-throughs are 2% for these ads alone.
So, I will be keeping these native ads on my site even after the April promotion.
Give it a try and I would love to hear other people's experiences and results of using Native Ads?

Good to read your success Kristian with Amazon Native ads this month.
I have had Native ads on my pages before, and have been hesitant on placing them again on my website. If only they would appear with just row, rather than two rows. Two rows appear cumbersome between the last row of text and, hopefully, comments.
Perhaps I will give them another try!
I don't use the plugin. I just insert the code at the foot of the page. Maybe the plugin would give a better result.
I think that the layout of the ads are now flexible, so a single row should be achievable. https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/topic/t402

Extremely interesting. I must find out what the native ads usually pay. I assume 1% outside the special offer period.
I just checked the link. The normal commission paid depends on the individual contract you have with them.
It does appear you can limit their size by specifying the pixel size.
Very interesting.
Thanks for this info.
