Hi Everybody!

Question: Which is the best plug-in to use in order to rate products on your blog posts? And why do you think it's the best?

Hey Kris. I'm a fan of PollDaddy http://wordpress.org/plugins/polldaddy/ but unfortunately it doesn't currently work on WA hosting as it needs to make connections to an outgoing server, something which has recently been restricted to whitelisted services. It's by the same developers as Akismet. The free version seems to meet most Members needs although there is a Premium subscription service http://www.polldaddy.com for complex ratings, polls and surveys. I know several Members have opened support tickets to ask for it to be whitelisted, so if it's of interest, you could do the same. I also really like GD Star Rating http://wordpress.org/plugins/gd-star-rating/ but it is hideously complex to set up. Hopefully someone will be along shortly with some other options! :) Rich.

Thank you Rich! Yeah, I was trying to set one up...possibly that one but I got lost so I'm not sure. I have ratings working on posts I publish...for other people to rate my post. But I'm looking for how to rate a product on my post. I'll let you guys know if I find something as well. Thanks!

Yup, it took me the best part of a day to figure out that it's a three-part process to set up GD Star Rating and most of the 1-star reviews it gets is simply because people using it despair of the hundreds of options it offers, ie. you can assign "weight" ratings, so in this example http://d.pr/i/Kf7 you might decide "Performance" carries twice as much value as "Support in reaching a total rating value, etc. It's brilliantly easy to add your own ratings once it is set up, it adds a blank copy in the editor window where you simply click on the stars or other icons to give a product what rating(s) you want but I found like many others that getting to that stage is a pretty tedious journey! :) Rich.

Hi Kris.

I haven't seem many - but this one looks good - I don't think it's the best, just that the screenshots make it look like it fits a review site very well (and looks similar to the page design Kyle uses in the tutorials):

I hope it's of some use?

All the best, Mark

Thanks Mark, I will look into it!
