4 Slaughter Houses Shut Down in Lee Co. FL.
This is the news I woke up to this morning! I live one county away and this news story couldn't have made me more happy. As most of you know, my niche is about animal cruelty.
The incredible task of shutting one down is tough, but 4! Yes, thank you! As an animal lover and advocate I just had to share this. This story is very new and I do not have all the info on it yet, but I do know a minature pony was featured this morning that was emaciated, very ill, and on the verge of death, and I'm only assuming that one of these "houses" were in fact housing race horses. I will be researching this story as it develops to find out what happened and what type of animals were involved. In my comment about housing "race horses" that's all they can do,
UPDATE: I should have mentioned this yesterday when I posted this because it is ILLEGAL in the United States to slaughter horses. They can be auctioned for slaughter then transported to Canada or Mexico.
I hope this does not offend anyone, but I just had to share this.
Not all of us write about the same thing..

I commend you, Kris, for following your passion.
Any type of human suffering is tragic, but we have the ability to help each other. Animals don't have the ability to end their own suffering, with many of it coming at teh hands of humans.
Personally, I'm not offended by the post. It truly is a day to celebrate! Thanks for sharing this, Kris!
Thank you Veronica! That really means a lot to me! Honestly, you wouldn't believe the amount of people that really do get offended by these types of stories. In my opinion, there is a small fraction out there that do not want to see it or hear about it. If they do not hear about it, it doesn't exist. I've been blocked and deleted from Facebook for speaking up about animal cruelty.
Anyway, thanks again and have blessed day.

Follow your passions and dreams! Are you familiar with Temple Grandin? She had a passion to help cattle through the creation of a more humane way of being treated in the stockyards. If you are interested, there is a dvd that tells her story, and it's available on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
I am very happy to hear they are shutting these types of animal cruelty down. I do love animals as well and I do not think they deserve to be treated in a bad manner just because they can't speak up for themselves. This is great news thank you for sharing.
