Books to read to expand your mind
Some of these books I just read this year. I found these books to be some of the most powerful reads to date. Some of these are going to be widely known others may not.
I'm not going to link to these books, but all of these can be found on Amazon. Used copies and new copies. I personally perfer a used copy, the idea that someone created a piece of work shared that knowledge with someone and then that someone passed that knowledge onto me. Its strange but thats why I like used books.
Heres my list of 5 books to start your years with: (maybe 6)
- Man's Search for meaning - Viktor E. Frankl
One mans memiors from surviving nazi death camps. No one can aviod suffering in our lives, but we can learn how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward from it.
This book is one of the most powerful peices of work I have ever read. Do yourself a favor, read this book, your life will be better for it.
2. Where good Ideas come from - Steven Johnson
We all know a good idea when we see it. Pencil, Computer, Printing press, Google.
There is a natural order of which ideas need to be created. You do not invent google without the internet. The internet is not created without the military needing to share imformation across the world. You're not sharing information across the world without a computer.
Johnson is a brilliant story teller and even better at linking ideas throughout history and showing how each one builds on the next.
3. Outliers - Malcolm Gladwell
Malcolm is not orginial with his idea of the 10,000 hour rule. But what he lays out in his book is there is a pattern for the world we create. There are reasons some become successful and other don't.
Why are professional hockey players usually born in Jan., Feb., March? If Bill Gates was born anywhere else would he have still started Microsoft?
A truly unique take on underlying factors we sometimes neglect to forsee.
4. Zero to One - Peter Thiel
Founder of PayPal, investor of Facebook. This guy knows a thing or two about building a business in this day and age.
As we are all here trying to build a business for ourselves online. This book is going to change your mindset on start-ups.
5. Third Circle Theory - Secret Entrouage
This theory was new to me and I'm sure it will be new to you. There are 3 circles of life. We are all born into the first, the goal of life in to progress into the third circle.
I think we are all self starters online here. This book will make you change the way you view your entreprenuership. Anyone who wants to be an entreprenuer should read this book.
This one is by far one of my favorites to begin learning what type of business man or woman you want to be. I'll leave you with this question.
Why is it we can remember the names of great business men like Steve Jobs but never recall who founded corporations like ExxonMobile or Bank of America.
Happy New Year to every here at WA.
These books have helped expand my mind and the way I think! I would recommend them to any family member or friend here at WA!

Hey Kurtis,
Thanks for the reading list.
There are two types of books that I read
1. Aptitude Books:
Books that helps you gain more knowledge about your
niche.
2. Attitude Books:
books that helps you increase your Positive Mental Attitude, builds your Self-Esteem, and also books that helps you increase your Spiritual Growth.
I've also noticed that these books all have high review ratings. That's a good sign that these are all great books.
