"if I'm an affiliate that means I'm promoting someone else's products or their website or both"
Depends on the affiliate program but yes you are promoting someone else's products or services.
"and if so that means my website should have the tag affiliate marketing right?"
If you mean does it need a disclosure page and to make each page you write with an affiliate link with a disclaimer, then yes.
"so if I post products from another site I put their link on it so when traffic clicks on the product it takes them to the site where the product is right. "
Yes, You put the affiliate link in the article that is based on your niche.
"So my keyword-rich content would be about anything that has to do with the outdoors right? like hiking boots or fishing poles or even flashlights and clothing right? or am I way off on my thinking?"
Yes but you want to make sure if you are talking about "hiking boots" then the affiliate program/ link would be to hiking boots. As in the program/link is extremely relevant to your article/post/page etc.

Hi, you are wanting a niche a site. So choose one you are most passionate about and genuinely interested in as you'd be expected write lots of content addressing issues related to your niche.
From your selection you may need drill down and find low competition keywords onto which you can write lots of informational content.
You are essentially writing informational and review posts for your visitors make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused offer you have highlighted in your content.
The recommendation you'd need one affiliate link for every 500 words.
You would have written 20 - 30 posts and have some traffic before you can apply to affiliate programs, as typically they would check your site for relevance and traffic prior approval.
For Amazon it would be 15 - 20 posts.
The recommendation is updating blog 2 - 3 posts a week a niche a site and that's for the foreseeable future
You can do a google search
Your niche + affiliate programs
Your niche + affiliate programs + location
and see what results you get

Hey I am Lula.
When choosing my keywords in Jaaxy I run them by Google to check and see who appears in the top three positions. I am always aiming to find an angle how to leverage my work for max benefit and productivity. I want them keywords working for me for example get the posts ranked in the months to come and creating passive income.
Wishing you a terrific day.
You will probably find Keywords by using the names of the actual outdoor events that you what to write about. Like how to organise an outdoor wedding or to organise a park run etc
Hi, you need be specific.

You can then look at all the other suggestions that Google is asking
Also check the section on what people are asking
Then you can scroll down to the related searches at the end of page 1
You can also use Quora, Reddit to see if people are having discussions about your keywords
Failing all of those, you can use answerthepublic to get more keywords
I really hope this helps.
