I think just need to work and learn by take action just build it while you learn and the rest will come as you will see the problem and you find the solution. Go though the practice again and again. At 1st it feels like overwhelmed as practice make perfect and learn from it. 😁

Hey Kathy - follow the training andwhen you go to creat your site - select 'on a free site' and go through the rest of the questions - don't worry about the theme - you can always change it in the future - or you can use a very flexible one called generatepress ( type it into the box for themes.
then click build it and sit back and wait a couple of mins.
log in and you are in the backoffice of your own web site.
the main thing is to create content for your visitors - making your site pretty can be done at any time.
so once you have your site up then celebrate
