Niche Research - What Themes Should You Create On Your Website?

Are you having a hard time figuring out what angle to take with your website?

I have been sitting here for weeks trying to figure out where to go with my website. I have chosen to promote the Wealthy Affiliate program, but can't figure out if I should take it from the angle of building a website, reviewing scams, how to make money online. With this difficulty, I have been having a hard time figuring out what theme my domain should be created around. I can't decide what three main themes to create, and what topics I should write creating those themes.

After delving deeper into the trainings, I am starting to understand that the best ways to determine any of these decisions is through keyword research with the JAAXY keyword research tool. If you are not already using the JAAXY keyword tool, I highly recommend using it. The JAAXY keyword tool can be quintessential in showing you what is trending and what people are looking for.

For example, my first website domain was buildyourwebsitewithease.com, and the angle was to help people to get their business on the web- how to build their webpages and market online. After playing around with the JAAXY keyword research tool, I have found that there aren't as many people searching for building websites, as there are people searching for making money online. When typing in keywords around the niche of "build my website", the highest average traffic rating I get is around 37,000. But when typing in niches around "make money online", some of the top average traffic ratings are around the 200 thousands. This is when I decided to change my domain to websitemoneystarters.com and build my theme around making money from home rather than getting your business online.

Have any of you tried this strategy with building out your web pages and themes? What success have you had?

Great article, I am heading to Jaxxy to do some more fine tuning for my niche. I have been stuck for a week deciding on which niche to turn towards. My top three interests are helping people improve their horse riding skills, making money online/from home and makeup / fashion for busy moms.

I agree that there is probably a greater demand for making money from home compared to creating an online business. Both approaches can work when targeted effectively. .

Your thinking is taking you in the right direction. As you continue with the training, the pieces of the puzzle will start to fall into place and your clarity will increase.

The challenge with the making money niche generally is that it is too wide. A specific target such as 'how to make money with your website' or even 'how to make money online without a website' or 'how to make money writing' or 'how to make money teaching guitar' - these are more specific, making it easier to attract the appropriate target audience. ~Jude

That is great advice Jude! I will look into narrowing it down.

I don't know much yet about bootcamp, but why can't you build it around all three of the ideas above? I mean, making money online involves building a website and knowing which scams to avoid doesn't it? I do know that in the bootcamp training that no matter what, you need to compare and contrast all of the known scams out there. Quite a bit of work. But keywords are also important. 37,000 is still great, don't get me wrong. Keep in mind that the more traffic a keyword has, the more competitive it's going to be, therefore take more time for articles you post on a new site to rank faster. So start off small. As time goes on and your website gains trust with Google, those more competitive keywords will rank higher and higher if you're posting three times a week. Try not to get hung up on the little details, I know it's super easy to. But if you want my opinion, i don't see why you can't have multiple topics in the same niche on a site, as long as they're related to the niche. That'll just make your website that much more valuable to people.
