Things take time. In the beginning we were all (or the vast majority) feeling similar things. Learning to write takes time and practice. At first at 400 word article seemed to take forever. Now much longer articles come together much faster. Traffic takes time. Google ages your site and trusts it more over time. So, keep writing and publishing content and the rest will come later. You ca always go back and update your posts for products to sell later when you have traffic.

One place I often look for ideas on which products to promote is Amazon...

You don't need to be an affiliate to find out which ones are selling and to see the reviews. I'd look up World of Warcraft and see what you come up with there. Then look to see which are best sellers in that department, and also note how many reviews there are and whether most would recommend it or not.

I took a quick look and there's products there, under video games, books, clothing, and probably more.
