Trying to get my ducks in a row!

I've been silent for a while but not unproductive. It's crazy all the things going on in my life. I decided to give those who follow me an update on why I need to get my ducks in a row!

First, I found a mass on my foot that's benign but continues to grow across the top of my foot heading towards my toes. So I'm having surgery tomorrow to have it removed. It's same day surgery that'll take about an hour. I hate anesthesia as I get so nauseous and get a lovely migraine. Oh the nurses and anesthesiologist try their magical liquid happy drippings but I still get sick. But that's the cost of removing something that's not supposed to be growing and causing such awful nerve pain. Well onto the next...

Second, my son Michael has down syndrome. He's 21 and was looking forward to moving to a group home in November. It's close to January and he's still living at home. The county stated the group home he was supposed to move into was planning to overcharge them for his stay so they told Michael that he can't move to that group home. All is not lost, we toured another group home last week and we think Michael might like it there but now the opening they had might not happen as the client isn't sure he wants to move out now. Apparently there might be an opening at one of their other homes but we're on standstill again. More waiting and wondering while we head towards the next...

Third can be a turd and this one is a real hurd of a nurd. All of my daycare kiddos have hand foot and mouth disease. Doesn't it make you want to look at your hands? I bet at least one of you reading this looked at your hands! But whose gonna admit to that! So on the day before my surgery I will be cleaning and sterilizing all the toys, floors and sleeping areas. Yeah for me but I'm not done...

Fourth, we're buying a new house! We close the middle of January but we're not moving in right away. I bet you're asking but why? Well that brings me to the next...

Fifth, I told my daycare families that we're buying a house and three mom's started crying. Oh my gosh...mom tears are the worst. They all begged me to stay. Well gosh darn it now what? So my husband and I talked and we decided to keep our current home for daycare and slowly move into our new home. Being winter and all, if the roads are bad we'll just stay here and not drive the 40 minutes to the new house. All the families were thrilled and even one asked me, can I hug you? Now that seems like enough yeah? but wait...

Sixth, we're going to California one week after closing on the new house. Oh we had it planned in June and figured we wouldn't be buying a new house in the winter anyway. LOL we did exactly that! But it's not really that, Michael was supposed to be in the group home so now we need to figure out whose going to stay in our home to supervise. He's very independent but it's like that saying "he got a wild hair up his ass" or maybe that's just my families saying growing up I heard it a lot! For Michael he gets ideas and then reacts to those without thinking much about his safety. So there's that to think about and then there's the dog...

Seventh, we went on a family vacation in July to the black hills. Oh we had tons of fun but our dog Max didn't handle us being gone. He stopped eating right after we left and on the third day he had a mild stroke. So now we have to figure out what we're going to do with Max when my husband and I go to California. My daughter Katie wants to move into the new house right away but I don't think Max would do well in a new surrounding without us there and being in our current home would be best and Michael will be here but we won't so we worry how Max will respond.

So does seven in heaven sounds right? Or is that just a goofy word play? Yea my life is full and each day brings something new. My friends tell me I need to slow down but I don't know how and on what. It's hard to tell someone how to do something unless you've walked in their shoes first. Maybe then they can analyze my life and find a stop button so I can ride a mighty rainbow that'll lead to God who can offer all the amazing beauty of my life that'll teach me how to get all my ducks in a row. For now, my ducks run wild and maybe there's beauty in that too!

Seven in heaven...here I come!

You have a lot on your hands, pardon the pun. ( foot and mouth ) I truly hope it all works out. The move does sound good though.

Thank God you're ok and safe

Wow, Kim! You seem to be handling these seemingly all-at-once activities with great aplomb! My prayers go out to you as you circumvent these live situations for God to give you strength and wisdom!🙏🙏🙏

Remember, keep living life one day at a time!

Jeff

Thanks! Ain't life grand! It's all about attitude. Bury your head in the sand and miss everything or grab the steer by the horns and ride this thing called life. I choose to ride into the sunset. Whatever comes my way I'll get through because I have faith and with that nothing is impossible.

Take care!!
Kim

Your extremely positive attitude is very infectious, Kim! Persevere and thrive!

Jeff

It seems everyone's journey is mote important than reaching a final destination. You'll get to where you want to go with your attitude and commitment. Good luck.

Thank you!
