ok, so I want to remove the comment box from my homepage. when I started to type in the question box, my exact question popped up, only problem...it's a premium only link. for t
I've got a static landing page and also want that ugly box out of the way! If I have any luck in sorting it out will let you know.
Under Settings>>Discussion Uncheck top 3 selections.
For items already posted open the post, select Quick Edit from the menu and uncheck the comment selection.
I am not sure you can remove that its part of the program also its how you get feedback on your webpage...does that answer your question or did you have a different one?
I want feedback, just not smack in the middle of my homepage. i'll have comment sections on more relevant pages. my homepage is basically an overview of my site. I think a comment box is better placed in the areas where feedback is needed.
like, my site is about military care packages. i'd like people to able to comment if they like my lists or if they have something they think they should add.
Not yet. We're experiencing a thunderstorm right now and the whole block went black. I am currently on a dying tablet...lol

Within your sidebar, under appearance click on "header" you will be able to remove the default header image and replace it with any custom header you want. If you don't replace the image, your title and tagline will just display at the top. :)

I am on course 1, lesson 9. when I clicked on "next lesson" it took me to a blank page. same happened when I came back to the activity dashboard and clicked on the "get started

Did you try to refresh you computer? I just tried the lesson 9 and it worked. Below is the same less see if that works. First click the refresh if worst comes to worst log out of WA then get back in and try it.
Try the link if nothing you may need to get a support ticket.

it's working now. got a full page up and it loaded pretty fast. must have just been a momentary glitch. thanks!

also, I am wanting to get input from military personnel. would it be best to ask on here like a question or to put it in a blog?
The input from military personnel I trust has to do with the website?
Does the question relate to the lesson you are doing now? If so that might be the better spot to ask.

yes. I am doing a site on military care packages to be sent to the deployed. I have a print out at my cousin's army surplus store to get input from there, but the more the better. the content is about basic stuff and things people don't think to put in them. I don't want to do just research on other sites. I want to get people who have actually been deployed to state things they wanted/needed in care packages that they loved or wish they got.
What a great idea Kissiah told you I was proud of you. Well done. Well there are some current military members here and also ex members may be able to help i will do a quick blog for you.
Continue to go forward you be be cheeky with your language sometimes but you heart is gold and to me that is more important.

ok. thanks. I noticed that earlier today. even went and did a malware scan because I thought it might have been my computer...lol.
I thought it was my cmputer too, but then everyone was talking about it in chat a few minutes ago. It isn't usually slow like this, they must be working on an update behind the scenes.
I know WA have been doing a lot of updates to their servers along with getting ready for big positve changes that would be the main reasons for the slowness a few times lately the best way to check it our is try going to other place on your computer and see if they are slow if not and only WA is then it's the servers if all are going slow they it would be on your side somewhere maybe even with the isp providers you may have.

I just tried Pages>>Your Homepage name>>Edit>>Templates>>check the 'Page with no comments box' - Ugly box gone! (at least it worked on my Theme)
appreciate the help, but i was able to get it sorted at like 4 this morning..lol
