Gotta watch out for the 'Shiny'
The 'Shiny' is an expression that my friends and I use. It actually started out as a sort of joke, but I find that it fits for a LOT of people I come into contact with.
Basically, the Shiny is a way to express a distraction that leads you away from what you 'should' be doing to, well pretty much ANYTHING else.
I have adult ADHD, so I get the Shiny a LOT. :D I don't beat myself up about it, I just acknowledge that I've wandered and pull myself back to task.
One of my main goals with this program is to keep on task, and I'm really liking the lessons and by the numbers structure of this site.
It helps me get back on track.
Quick question though, does anyone else find themselves crazy distracted by the live chat and the amazing blogs that are all over this site?
Too many Shinys. *wink*

Hi Kim I really like that word the shiny, when you first walk through the front door of WA it is like being let loose on an amusement park with a fist full of tickets, the secret is finding a balance and also building your engagement into an overall strategy that works for your business. I avoid chat it would be my downfall, just to much distraction.
This website is a double edged sword lol it can be used to cut your learning curve drastically in many areas of your business, but it can also distract you and slow you down.
That's why I would advise you to only follow a couple people who post informative blogs so that you aren't constantly being distracted by emails.
Thanks for this insight Kim. I tends to only spend a minute or two to address questions on chat and then I'm out. You are right it can become a distraction if you are not careful.
