Sometimes We Stay Up Too Late!

Yes, admittedly, I've stayed up too late, again...

The TV is just on for background noise, as I'm housesitting and all alone tonight. Oblivious to the programming as I type away on my keyboard, it is the commercial on the TV that catches my attention. The things we find at 2 am, yes, I know I should be in bed.

What is this all intriguing ad, you ask? The ad was for Web.com, which is advertising custom built websites for your business, for free. There is always fine print, right? It sounds quite similar to Wealthy Affiliate, and I was already online, so I went to check it out. I understood from the commercial, that it is free for 30 days, they build the site, optimize it for traffic, even do copywriting. If you like the results you may pay a "small monthly fee", otherwise, you cancel and pay nothing.

I suppose I should have delved further, but a cursory inspection of the website didn't reveal what that 'nominal' monthly fee might be. A pop up window had "Chad" asking how he could help. I closed that box and went to another section. Again, "Chad" was inquiring if I needed a website. There was nothing straightforward as to determine what this "low monthly fee" would entail. You could "click here for more details," in several places, but I wasn't about to register and give up my information for the sake of this research. I just wondered if this is a new source of competition for WA? What they are marketing is all of the results and none of the work associated with what we are learning here. I find myself wondering about their results. Ok, it IS way past my bedtime.

Yes, there is a question here somewhere...

Has anyone ever heard of this program? Please leave your thoughts/comments below.

Thanks!

Kim

I did more research on web.com that may be read here if anyone is interested. http://earnyourdreamvacation.siterubix.com/product-review-web-com

I believe we all have good instincts.

Hi Kim,
If it walks like a duck and swims like a duck, it is a duck.
I would run away fast from this one.

I did, I just wanted to post something to put it in the minds of others, in case they might be tempted to take the 'easy way out' and let someone do the work for them. :) Thanks, Theuns!

Thanks for sharing it with us Kim.
I myself have paid my school fees in thousands of dollars wasted on such schemes. Much poorer but a lot wiser ! :)
Have a great day.

Nope, never heard of this Chad, guy. Watch out for those early, early morning "slicer and dicer" advertising shows.

Poor Chad is probably some minimum wage associate who had the luck to draw the third shift. I was thinking it might be a good comparative review to WA.

Hmm. Took a little look and they talk about giving you starter content, which is not good. That sounds like plagiarised copy and paste, but I could be wrong. So far as a price is concerned it is not in the open so another red flag.

Interesting find and I think the only way to find out more is to click the join button and see what comes up. You can always back out before you give too much information.

Also, I do not think that it is similar to WA as they do not mention support or community in their ad.

Lis

Hi Lis,
I was thinking more along the lines of a comparative review to WA, because clearly, the community support is a strong point in WA's favor. It was just surprising to find something advertised that brought those results close to home. I never trust that "something for nothing" concept, but we all did start here with a Free sign up. I just thought others should be aware, as well. :)

Hi Kim,

Good idea and as you say having a free sign up is not always a bad thing :). Plus as WA proves you are not technically getting something for nothing, just a taster of what you could have :).

Thank you for bringing this to light :)

Hello Kim. I have seen the ads, and did some investigating myself. For me the fact that there were no straight forward answers to what it costs was a red flag. If you could pay $30. or $40 dollars and earn thousands, every one would be doing it. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That is just my thoughts.

I was thinking that it raised red flags, too, Donald. It might be a good source for a review for anyone doing Affiliate Bootcamp. That was what I was thinking when I wrote the blog post. Thanks for your thoughts. :)

Hey, Kim. It's amazing what you find on TV late at night! I have not heard of this program, but it's worth checking out to do a review on!

That is what I was thinking, Jean! I did the quick blog post just to see if anyone else had heard of it, because it was the first time I had seen it advertised. We are on the same wavelength here.

There is a saying and I have found it to be very true. "You don't get anything for nothing" there is always a catch. In this game it is usually up sell. My other method is my gut feeling. It never lets me down!

I totally agree with that thought process, lindon. My gut feeling was that someone needs to review this and get the word out there :)
