Saved by the Teddy Bear - crisis averted
I just experienced a moment of crisis and then some incredible website support from a dedicated WA member. I want to share my story.
I crashed my website tonight/very early this morning. Total rookie moves rushing ahead and clicking things before I knew what I was about. All my posts disappeared. They were still visible in the WP dashboard, but they were nowhere on my website. I couldn't find my posts anywhere. I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I was afraid of making it worse. Of course I panicked!
I reached out to the community. Despite the late hour, I got a response within minutes from a member of my network who goes by Teddy Bear a.k.a. ChrisScott
Teddy Bear really saved my bacon. He found the problem, fixed it and let me know just where I made my wrong turns. He tidied up the excess junk cluttering up my site and slowing it down. He even set up a home page for me. I am so grateful for his website layout coaching and support. The man is a genius with website development.
I was saved by the Bear!

The Bear to the rescue. I think WA needs to add another accolade to their system...that of a Wealthy Affiliate of the year and that would be Chris Scott.
We really do have a great community here, and one day you will be helping someone the same way.
We all need a mentor on line to help our Team Work. Chris is a mentor. Chris is a team leader. W.A. is a team.
I love the WA community. There's a tonne of support. But I definitely see the value of a one on one mentor. I think I need me one of those...
Kimberley, your home page is coming up as a template but other pages are working. You may be working on your homepage. Jay
I actually didn't have a home page before, just a blog roll. Bear advised a home page as a landing page instead of the blog roll, and set up the structure. I think that makes all kinds of sense, so I will be working on my homepage today.
Teddy Bear's the man. Very renowned withing the community. Consider yourself lucky to have someone like him on your side
I sure feel lucky. (For some reason I'm thinking of Dirty Harry right now.)
Bear's my hero. He saved my website, and my sanity. Sometimes its hard being so new. I just don't know what I don't know, you know?
It was wrenching. Hours spent on posts, gone. He had it fixed in less than five minutes.
I also salute the Bear!

That's awesome. Thank goodness for the bear!
It really was awesome. It was a scary "oh s#!*" moment, but fortunately Bear knows a heck if a lot more than I do and fixed me up nicely.
