Slowly but surely rising - through social engagement
I've been working on my site for just over three months now, and I am finally starting to move up in the Google rankings. They are still not spectacular, with most pages still being unranked or between pages 5-20. Many however have gone up a few pages in the last week, and I have a couple that are page 1 or 2.
What has sparked the rise? Social media, I believe. Just this months I started sharing pages to social media roughly 3 times a week, which has led to social engagement with my site as well as extra traffic for Google to notice.
It has also led to another great benefit: One way or another, a prominent "news" site in my niche has noticed my social media posts and reblogged or tweeted out my pages that I post to social media. With thousands of followers themselves, this has led to a few hundred extra views to my site as well!
And perhaps most importantly, it constitutes the recognition of my site by other authority sites in my niche, meaning that I'm starting to get authority as well. I think Google has noticed that, as pages that this other site has promoted have risen in the ranks quite noticeably.
None of this has transferred to Amazon sales yet, but I'm very excited for the increase in traffic, and hopefully for where it could take me!

I am actively involved on Facebook and being a successful online marketer I tend to spend a lot of time observing behaviors and particularly responses. Engaging in debate and then referencing material brings quite a bit of traffic.
