Learning process, and my OCD
Oh my stars have I learned something HUGE today!
My OCD is making some things take me a bit longer to get done ~sighs~
I admit it ... I have issues with uniformity in how the things I do look, but it's not always a bad thing. Maybe now that I have noticed it, I can leverage it to make my sites fall into place faster with a 'template' of sorts in mind ~smiles~ Let me give you an example of what I noticed in my way of looking at my own posts and pages - and how I 'think' I can make it work to my advantage.
- Images - These are things used to make our posts and pages more 'pleasing' to the readers (and ourselves) ... but for someone that has never added an image before - UG!
- Adjusting the image after its placed makes the page fun too. If you click on a picture you placed, you can edit it and see 'roughly' how it would interact with the wording you already have in place! A tip though, if you end with an image ... hit Enter a few times first and place the image in the middle of that. I learned that the hard way when some of my posts have the theme page border going right through the Center of my image - Blah ... I have to go fix that on a few pages as well.
- Fonts - All of our themes come pre-installed with some relevant fonts to them, and most of the time they work well. Just not all of the time.
- Closing and Signatures - I know we all have our way of signing off a post that we make, and I am no different in that one. But I just couldn't seem to get a "feel" for the way the fonts looked as a signature to make the post truly "mine" ... am I alone in that?
So, in a nutshell ... if you are like me, and OCD or any other reason hits you in the back of your design process center - run with it! It may just turn out to be a good thing. Or at least a way to personalize your site and define it more? Not sure there ... I'm still trying to process that out within my own design center. Silly compulsive me.
Just thought I would share that random little thing I learned ~smiles~ Maybe it will even give you something inspirational.

I hope you don't mind, but I popped in to see your site and I love it. From one OCD to another. It has worked so well for you. It puts my site to shame. Well done. Jackie x
Thank you for the compliment ~smiles~ its really more in the theme chosen than anything else I think. I will be doing some minor fixes today to get the borders right now that I am ready to use what I learned from it for the soon to come discussion thread in a classroom. Your own site from the pages I have seen though look great to me, they are eye pleasing and that is what keeps me looking
I just clicked through to your absolutely beautiful and totally informative site. And now I'm really depressed. You have raised the bar so high, I don't think I'm ever going to be able to even approach it. I know we are not supposed to be competitive, but when I see what CAN be done...just WOW! Could you tell me, please, what is a OCD? Thank you.
Wow ... thank you SO much for the compliment. I think the same thing when I see others pages that they have. I feel a bit like a slow learner myself. OCD by the way is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
Sure ... mind you, its still in the "I have to fix it" phase (as I am going to use part of this learning process for stage 9 of the Bootcamp). Not sure the rules on putting our addresses in posts and such but here it is - http://success2013.khameleonkitten.com/
If it is not to be placed in reviews like this, please let me know how and where ... I'm still learning ~smiles~
Hope it loads well for you
This is ok because we are doing it for sharing and learning not promoting
Smiles back at you ;O )
Thank you for sharing your site it is beautifully done, and I understand why the theme is called luxury it looks very rich. My husband has OCD sometimes I feel so sorry for him
But there are good things too because he won't settle for mediocre, all things are done right. lol really perfect I should say.
I am probably close to the opposite so we make a good team ;O)
I'm glad you like it ~smiles~ I went through this morning and redid a few things to give it a much more uniform feel ... now to add more images to the 'naked' pages so I can feel ready to move forward with peace of mind
That is so cool I want one :O ) I am going to reread all you have here so I can try what you are saying
Thanks for sharing
I noticed the sig image is a bit "thin" the other day, so I am working on one that will show up a bit better with bolder lines ~smiles~ Thank you for the compliments on the post

Hi, Kham !
Thanks a lot for your explanations on adding images to posts and pages.
I've noticed they aren't that easily combined with text, well not for beginners :(
Your posts are always very interesting, nicely written and delicately spiced with great humor ˘◡˘
Well done !
Milica ˘◡˘
Thank you a bunch ~smiles~ I try to tell other beginners like myself of my stumbles so maybe you can avoid them yourself. Glad it helps make you smile as well.
