Before you shout SPAM, remember where you come from.

Our beautiful community the wealthy affiliate has great people that lead us by example. People who support, educate and nurture all those who need nurturing. We all have different stories. Some of us start without any motion, some of us with a crawl and the fortunate ones start with a run. In that sense there are those who will fault a lot before finding their momentum.

Hustling is not easy for everyone, but for anyone who is here and putting that limited time of theirs, means that they are trying and maybe they are determined. We all started from way back. I started from over 200,000 th rank and I bet even those who are at the top end, at one time started way back and probably made a number of faults before they got where they are.

I am writing this because of the way some people use the word spam. Reporting someone's action as spam is a good way of getting rid of their unpleasant actions pronto. That's an easier way out but does it help the platform in real sense?

Let's say the person you branded as a spammer didn't mean any harm to you. He was just trying to do something good but the way he does it is not at the level good enough to you or he did something that annoyed you in the process without his knowledge and now he gets banned from using the platform.

Remember this same person branded spammer was invited by one of the members here and even gone premium believing in making it big on this platform only to be banned a couple of months into his premium membership while experimenting here and there.

A couple days ago, in my effort to be active on the platform I decided to offer a number of website comments. As you all know website comments are quite strict. The first four comments I made when I was just starting up were all disapproved. So I took it upon myself as a challenge to write comments that would get approved. A couple of months ago after hitting level 3 training I could get two comments approved that was on July 31st.

On 30th September armed with the two successive approval I was a bit optimistic that finally I can help someone with comments. So I made 6 comments - 4 were approved, one disapproved and one pending. By any means, that looked great by my standards and I think you would agree with me here.

Yesterday, I tried to go check if the pending approval had been approved only to find a very interesting message waiting for me:

We're sorry, too many of your previous comments have been reported as spam, being inappropriate, or low quality. You do not have the ability to leave further comments.

Definitely one spammer happy person decided to shut me out indefinitely probably.

I just wanted to say, I meant no harm to all the website comments I posted to anyone. My comments might have been or are well under par to someones standards, but I am learning. When you disapprove my comments you have given me a chance to work to improve my quality but when you brand me a spammer you have shut me out from making any improvement as I won't be able to post any comments again.

My Brethren and sisters at the top and all those who are up and running, use the spam button with a bit of consideration. There are many other options before going for that button. We have personal message tool, we have a disapprove button and we can ignore .

I just wonder why so many comments of you were disapproved, are you sure you placed comments, and not confuse it with feedback?

There is a huge difference between those 2.
Comments are solely attending the article, and feedback is about the layout, the colors, the ads used and the images. Links which are not working properly etc.

Thanks for your advice Loes but the point I am addressing is not why my comments were disapproved as with time I learned through my mistakes and I still do.
Do you have anything to say about newbies who get the wrath of the brand spammer and get shut out indefinitely when they were honestly trying to improve?

I don't know why people judge that quick, I usually contact the person, if possible, via pm to inform them about the rules and what they could do different. Most cases, people are unaware of that they are doing something wrong

That’s right Loes. Totally with you there.
Thanks.

Hey Loes, how are you.

I find some people will spam others if they don't agree with the subject. This is very poor and would certainly interfere with the flow of content on the net if too many people do it. Almost war.

I just read up on the new SiteComments. I am a bit unsure on how I feel regarding one item This is the Not Interested. It looks like a penalty if we don't comment. Sometimes I know nothing of the subject and don't want to comment. Am I penalised. We will see.

You can set your preferences, I have unchecked some boxes, to get only subjects I am interested in

I just fine, Helen, how are you?

I see what you mean Helen.

I think the skip rate can be a problem.
Personally I learned that commenting on something you totally have no idea of will lead to disapproval.

The skip button was the only way out when faced with the unknown.

I have my preferences checked. Yesterday I went to comment and kept getting the same two requests. Haven't tried today and it's really bedtime now!

Hanging in there Loes. The weather is so dreary that hanging in there is about it.

I found a way around it, Just click away the thread, not the skip button, then go again via websites/comments then you get another website without skipping

Hi Khalfan, some really good points, it can be so frustrating when this happens, there are always two sides to every comment/ feedback, sometimes it can be good to remember from where we have come. leave it a while and then approach Kyle or Carson to see if the situation could be reversed.
Best wishes.

Thanks Alex.
