There Are Still Really Good People Out There!
Restoring my faith in mankind
A really nice thing happened to me yesterday. I was so thrilled and thought I would share this, because it really made me and my husband smile.
We are from the northeastern part of the US, and my husband's daughter, (my stepdaughter), her husband and our granddaughter live in Arizona. We went to visit them this past weekend, (landed in AZ Friday around 3 PM, and flew out yesterday around 11 AM. It was a really nice visit, not too long, maybe a bit short, but I still have a son who is in his junior year in high school ~so I don't feel very confident leaving my 17-yr old son home alone. While he is a really good kid, he still needs people in his life to assist him before he is totally independent.
Once we got to the airport in Phoenix, I was looking for something to buy for my youngest child, (the Junior in HS). There were these super cute zip-up sweatshirts that had "Phoenix" embroidered across the front with a 50)% off sign on the display. I proceeded to take off my fancy black jacket and my jean jacket {which I was wearing, doubled up as such due to convenience and it was in the 50 Degrees F so it was chilly} and I hung them, still together, on top of the sweatshirts. I decided on getting the sweatshirt after I tried it on for reference sizing and I completely forgot about my fancy jacket and jean jacket! I went about my business purchasing a few snacks, some baseball caps, and went to my husband, who was standing with our carryon bags, just outside of the marketplace I was shopping at. As we headed to our gate, my husband needed to stop at the men's restroom along the way. It was just then that I realized I had left the two jackets back at the place I was shopping at So I asked my hubby to give me a minute to run back to retrieve them. I headed back and the jackets weren't there! I I thought. "Oh No!" I wasn't sure what I had left in my pockets but apparently, they were just picked up off of the shirts I laid them on.
I walked away downtrodden, explained to my Spouse that the coats were missing and decided right then and there that someone needed them more than I did. My husband proceeded to go to the men's restroom and while he was gone a woman came up to me holding my jackets! She explained how she saw me trying on the sweatshirt, then realized i had left them and she searched for and eventually found me to return my coats. I hugged her and thanked her and that was the really nice thing that made me smile! Yay!
