Dealing with people

I learnt many years ago that the MOST successful people ( and not in a financial sense) were people who could get on with, and get the best out of others. It's not rocket science to learn the to greet a stranger with a SMILE will create a positive impression. This continues with taking an interest in the person or persons by listening to what they had to say, and actively engaging in their interests.

In other words speak to the other person in THEIR interests, not waffle on about YOURS. Believe me they will find YOU interesting if they can converse with you about anything they like, and sooner or later you will find yourself relating your own experiences within their dialogue.

In my job transporting peoples goods I often get to spend quite a few hours in their company and very rarely do I find a customer who I can't have a fairly extensive conversation with.

I am sure you will have been to a party and met the 'party Bore'. This is a person who never stops talking about themselves to you (and anybody else) who will listen, and you will soon find yourself making an excuse to get away. They never listen to any one else except to tell them how much they know about the subject, any how superior they are to you in knowledge and experience. Do not be that person!

Learn to LISTEN to what others say and you will have them coming back to chat, and they will tell others what a great person YOU are.
