You Don't Know What You Don't Know

When I first started looking for a job everyone wanted someone with experience. How do you get experience? You get a job. This is the paradox that you deal with when you first get started out. Then the question becomes; How do I get a job with no experience? The answer is that you need to know someone who can give you a job or can get you one where they work. You might know that when you start out but if you don't it does not take long to learn.

Now lets take going online to make money. Like many others I went online in 2005 it was with the intention of eventually replacing my job. I have lived long enough to know this could happen rather quickly but would probably take years.

The first foray was expensive and at the time the only way I knew other than Project Payday and my job prevented me from having the time to complete all those offers. I did give Project Payday a try and decided there had to be a better way. I bought one of those online dollar stores and thought I found the better way. But I never made a dime and did not learn anything about making money online. I did learn how to spend money online and my new credit card I bought just for this had nice little balance on it.

I finally gave up and think it was because I did not know what I did not know.

I am not exactly sure when, but sometime in 2008 I tried again. This time I decided I was not going to spend a dime until I made money first. I started to do a lot of research and discovered that it was getting easier and cheaper to get the tools you need. Finding someone to show you how to use those tools correctly was a different story and was going to cost you some money.

So before I spent any money this time I asked myself how do I find out what I don't know?

The first thing I did was take stock of what I did know. Since I work with these machines all day I did not need help on getting around or using the internet and in fact I was probably ahead of the game on those skills. I put all the things that I was learning into a .txt file and saved the file on a thumb drive so I could take it with me. When I would see an ebook or anything teaching how to make money online that I already knew I would just pass that by and spend my time learning the things I did not know but needed to know first. When I eventually learned about swipe files I thought it was amusing because I was already doing something like that.

In 2009 I joined the Wealthy Affiliate University under Travis Sago.

Now when I need to find out what I don't know all I have to do is come here to the WA University.
