I'm trying to sign up to affiliate programs but my website is still very new. Should I pay more attention to building content and then start signing up to the affiliate program

I would build up traffic first.
Most affiliate programs what to review your site.
Some have traffic requirements.
Being rejected by some affiliate programs is challenging because some will not reconsider you site later.

There is no reason to hurry. In fact Google likes content without links so I would let my site grow in content first.

That depends on your own situation,

If it is your first site that you are building then there is nothing wrong with joining affiliate programs once you have some content on your site. You can put your affiliat elinks on your site straight away - no issues with tha (just not on your first post published).

It is has been prove that putting the cart before the horse is better long term and waiting a period and gaining authority with google before doing so.

With the minimum period being one year and foregoing the "lost" earnings and getting more later.

Hey Keiu just yesterday I was applying to 5 affiliate programs. I hesitated for this same reason that I did not have the content as yet in my mind that would satisfy an affiliate application review process. I suspended the applications and committed to building up my blogs on them first and to generate some comments. So I agree that content first affiliate apps after.

Most affiliate programs seek to ensure that your website and content are in sync with its products/services and that you have traffic coming to your site.

Some programs won't even admit you if you have less than 20 - 30 articles on your site.

So I would suggest you spend some time building your site, the content, having your articles indexed and seeing progress with your organic traffic before you venture into applying for affiliate links.

Hope this provided some context.

I'd answer no to those questions as networks like ShareASale are looking for targeted marketing not Apps or browser bars with bugs and viruses and shady, questionable kind of marketing.

Some vendors on ShareASale want to work only with experienced marketers. These questions would make sense if they wanted specific types of promotions for their products as well.
