My first blog post - knock, knock

Hello,

I believe that all things happen for a reason. I was going through a life coaching program when I stumbled upon Wealthy Affiliate. I was on a self discovery path, looking for new career opportunities and finding my strengths. Actually, I was considering another similar platform for online marketing but once I found WA, I was immediately drawn to the feeling of a supportive community. It really felt like you have a support network here that I had not experienced in other platforms.

I signed up immediately and got a very nice and supportive message from DerekMarshal, since it had been his website that lead me here. This followed by many other supportive messages of welcome from the community. I felt very welcomed.

At first, I felt really happy with the training process. Kyle has a really good way of explaining things. It really felt like something anyone could do, which felt very encouraging. Every time I had a question, I could count on the members here or Derek to help me. Once, I got close to buying my domain, it suddenly got much more serious. I felt a bit uneasy, like before doing something that you alone will be responsible for. To be honest, I wasn't sure I could do it. I really doubted my abilities to run a successful website. You can have all the support in the world but at the end of the day it will be you who has to fill the blank pages. It took me quite a while to write my first post and to feel confident enough to actually post it. It sat in my saved files for at least a couple of weeks. Now, that I have written a few more I have gotten better at it. I don't feel 100% confident in my writing yet but I'm trying to let go of the feeling that everything has to be perfect. It will never be and you can always go back and correct anything that you are not happy with.

I'm still in my training and have reached the point where you have to write your first blog post, obviously :D I still feel like it has been the right decision to stay here and keep going. I have realized, you just have to be persistent and consistent, which were couple of the things I was trying to improve during my coaching as well. So in a way, it has been just what the doctor ordered. I'm sure I will face quite a few more uncertanties on the way but I think they will have their purpose that will help me in the long run to reach my goals. I just have to be brave enough to grab the handle and open the door.

Thanks,

Keiu

Hi Keiu,
Getting started is the hardest part.

It is your site so the only thing you can do is your best job. It will get better in time. Pretty soon you will look back and realise how far you have come.

Congratulations on taking the first step.

Candy Benn

Thank you Candy!

Don't think about it, just do it. You can go back later and improve on the early ones when you have more experience. What have you to loose? So why worry?

Thanks! That is so true!
