Why Top Players Stand Out From The Rest

I have been athlete for half of my life. I still consider myself an athlete but it has been a while since I have been in any organized sports. For the 2nd half of my life I have been in sales and business. I say that to point out that competing is not foreign to me, It actually pushes and motivates me when I have to compete with someone to reach my goal.

Most athletes and salesmen would agree with me in that aspect.

The other day I was at a kid's track meet, and I was admiring how talented some of the kids there were. I got to the meet a bit early to get a good seat as it was a very popular event and there were quite a bit of attendees.

As I watched the athletes perform their "pre-game rituals" I noticed that there were only a few kids warming up before the meet. There were some that were kind of hanging out. Some were stretching anf chatting, and some were taking selfies for instagram and tiktok.

As the track meet started, I instantly realized that the kids that were actually warming up before the meet were the same athletes that were winning all the racing. I thought to myself, "I bet those kids train harder than ther other kids in practice too."

People always wonder what sets the top 10% of performers apart from the rest. It's TRAINING. You ever heard the saying, "Harwork beats talent when talent doesn't work hard?" That saying is absolutely true.

My coach in middle school used to say that exact same saying at football practice when the talented kids were been lazy. He would say that to warn them that no matter how good you are, if someone trains harder and longer than you, they have a chance to beat you.

Training is what sets winner apart from the rest. This something that I am seeing while being in Wealthy Affiliates. My goal is not to beat anyone in the journey. I am competeing against myself. Although, because I have been dedicating time to training, I am grasping and consuming the information well enough to actually be productive and get things done. When you know better you do better. And knowledge comes from consistently training and applying what you developed in training.

I hope thing post motivated you to continuously to commit to training everyday.
