Have you heard of Rakuten?
Such an unusual name, isn't it?
By definition, the word means 'optimism' in the Japanese language.
Rakuten, Inc., is considered the equivalent of Amazon, Inc. but in Japan and is headquartered in Tokyo.
.Another Mega-Giant of a Network!
The corporation operates in over 29 countries around the world with an estimated billion-plus members.
This amazing e-commerce marketplace conducts over a $Trillion Yen in revenues last reported in 2018.
The company was first launched in 1997 by CEO and Founder, Hiroshi Mikitani and he's still sitting in the big Chair!
After more than 22+ years still in the same Big Chair --- talk about longevity!
Well, it peaked my curiosity somewhat and I just thought I'd give you all a quick share today!

You see, it's only now that I'm sure of what Rakuten is. I thought it was of German or others than of Japan.

In the UK a few years ago we had a great website called play.com, it was a great place for electronics, camera gear etc and had fantastic "end of line bargains" last time I tried to find it I ended up at rautken, sadly it was taken over and lost its small business charm. Kind regards Mike
awhh-geez! .... more 'Moms 'n Pops' disappearing into the woodwork, so to speak! .... that's a real cryin' shame, isn't it? ... where the smaller businesses or sole proprietors are getting gobbled up .... and of course, that's where the local economy thrives best along with the unique creativity that comes from individual efforts .....
so much for 'charm' and 'quaintness' these daze! ....
I thought the Biggie there was Alibaba. I use that all the time. Bought some magnets there just today.

Yes, Alibaba is huge and apparently operates out of China ....
... read somewhere in the news that Jack Ma the Founder of Alibaba had to sign over his shares to the government just recently -- have you heard about this or know anything? ...
