NewsFlash: Massive Gmail Global Blank-out!

Attention for Gmail Users!
Just picked up a message that Gmail is Down Worldwide! (mostly).
Starting at around 4:30 p.m. New York time (10:30PM Zurich), Gmail suffered a total global outage.
A catastrophic sized failure at Gmail is causing emails sent to Gmail to permanently fail and bounce back.
Some of you may be receiving an error message from Gmail:
550-5.1.1 The email account that you tried to reach does not exist.
Note: This impacts all email providers sending to Gmail !
Ok folks, that would explain in part, some of the quirks and quarks that some of us have noticed over the past day or so.

Quick Update: Wednesday, December 16/2020 -- Google Gmail outage remains as it was a 'cascade failure' .... no word as yet of when the fix will be done ... i haven't seen any emails since yesterday..... yes, pretty serious, folks! ... stay tuned for news here ...

My gmail seems to be working fine at the moment. I hope you and everyone else that got affected by this global blank-out will soon regain access to a fully functional gmail you've been using. The last I heard was that google was implementing the purge out of inactive gmail accounts. My guess is that gmail is updating, so in the process if you access it you might experience something went wrong. In this case, it's the blank out you talked about. It should go back to normal soon. Get some rest and come back to it tomorrow. My guess is that it should be working fine by then, hopefully :)

yes, it's been ongoing for the past couple of days affecting mostly countries in parts of Europe, America, a bit in Africa, Australia and Asia ...

Thanks Keisha. Good to know, but I am not at all surprised. It has happened to my AOL mail a couple of times in the last couple,of months. It is simply the precursor to the Total Shutdown of the Internet WORLDWIDE, which was planned 15 or so years ago. Could this be the reason for the Greatest SCAM for the last 2200 years? COVID19 scamdemic?

... i just don't see the point of it ... the species needs to 'evolve' to an enhanced higher level order or else it's likely 'extinction!' ... or perhaps oblivion ... thanks kindly! ...

Luckily I have been getting Gmails without interruption, as far as I can tell. I'll be on the lookout for missing info.

.... hi Frank ... yes, apparently it was a 'cascade fail' so quite serious and i haven't seen any gmail emails since yesterday .... thought it was unusually quiet as my inbox normally goes nuts!

Yeah thanks for the update, I have experienced the same here, whereby my Gmail account that I use at freebitcoin.in was not working.
But I that it was my network error, I tried to change my password by forwarding the linke email it failed.
So I realized that I was Global.

yes, apparently it was a Gmail outage and it affected all email providers as messages being sent to Gmail from any other provider were getting 'pinged' back with error notices ....likely clogging up the servers even more than usual !
.... sure, stick around here for news updates! ... lol ...
and after a day or two, now, the email traffic seems to be back online in full ....
