Hard Work and Work Ethic

Johnny works hard in a coal mine. His job is very strenuous and dangerous. Johnny (and his fellow miners) have to deal with toxic gases, being crushed by possible cave-ins, and being injured or killed by fires and explosions. Johnny works hard very long days and weeks. One may think Johnny has a good work ethic.

Johnny may demonstrate hard work, but does he have a good work ethic, too? Are we sure? Is Johnny reliable and accountable in showing up for work on time? Does Johnny just "do enough" that is necessary to keep his job? Is Johnny always honest with his fellow workers and boss? Does he complain a lot?

I believe these questions relate to us at Wealthy Affiliate. Are we accountable and honest with ourselves in what we are trying to achieve? Or are we stuck in that "easy chair" comfort zone? In other words, do we add value and worth above and beyond what is required of ourselves?

Hard work and work ethic: This comparison also comes down to setting timely, achievable goals that are written down and reviewed daily. We all hope and work for achieving our goals, but everyone knows that all goals will not be achieved or met. This is when patience and persistence and the "never give up" mentality MUST take over.

I hope these thoughts help you in YOUR HARD WORK and WORK ETHIC.

Much success to all,

Kent

Thanks for posting Kent, my Dad was a bricklayer and had a one tool a brick hammer which he built our family home with from scatch with no money. He spend most days near a hot furnace in a steel works. My life at WA is a breeze in comparison. Your post reminded me of that. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Phil, for the reply.
