Getting some writing done
Hey all! I've been stuck in the house for a couple of days due to increment weather hitting the Midwest.
It's been blizzardy all day today. The power went out earlier today. A few hours later the power came back on. But, it didn't seem to matter how much the power went out, I was still able to work on my site.
I hadn't been able to do much for a while for my site. It seemed every time I sat down to write and work on my side, I was hit with writer's block.
What really helped today was that the power went out. I had plugged my laptop in before the power went out and left it on a couple of the Wealthy AFfiliate pages I was learning from to get things going. What'd'ya know? It helped!
The power came on and except for the occassional standing and walking around to stretch my legs and such, i was right back into writing!
I got a couple of posts done and many more in the idea stage and ready to be written about.
Apparently, I needed this time to be stuck inside with nothing to do outside during this bad blizzard.
I really felt like I accomplished a lot today! I may not have done a lot of laundry - or any, actually (that was yesterday), but I DID get alot done with my site! So happy and relieved!
Anyway, I just wanted to share with you all :)
Have a great night and a great day tomorrow :)

The power of focus! This is why some people take their laptop out to a coffee shop to write.
Great progress.
I do often find inspiration in what to write about by looking at some meme or inspirational photo. If I can relate to the message conveyed, I will just try to expand with some related stories, stats, etc.
When I have studied Japanese at a small non-profit foundation in New York City, I had the benefit of a small class environment as well as of a Nihongo no sensei (Japanese language teacher) who thought and taught out of the box.
We ditched the classroom manuals and had used only handouts which were customized to the members of our class as the teacher had spent the time to find out about our personal lives, jobs, and even daily routine.
So now, instead of looking at some text and pictures we could not relate to in a manual, we became engaged during the class because we were "talking" about ourselves. whether it was orally or in writing. No robot like memorizing sessions.
It was all about us and we found it so natural to carry on because it was all so very personal and relatable.
Surely this method doesn't apply to all and to all situations but it helps to remove writer's boulders. and let creativity flow naturally.

Very awesome! I would have to agree with that! It's so much easier to say what's on your mind when you're given the opportunity to really relax with the situation and even liken it to yourself. Then the words flow naturally.
Thank you for sharing this. I love hearing and reading stories like this :)
Kay,
Thank you for the kind words, I hope there is some value in my prior reply.
Blessings!

Kudos for sayin' goodbye to writer's block. I struggled with the same for much longer than I thought was reasonable. Never had writer's block before, so it really blindsided me. I didn't know it could be so insistent. VERY annoying.
Very nice post. I'm glad you're back on track. I enjoy your posts an' your website. In fact, I REALLY love your website! I'm finally learning how to take control of that previously HORRIBLE tool, Photoshop.
Maybe you could link your website over to the right? Under the list of your blogs? That way, others could enjoy learning from you, too. Thanks!
