Core “Business Start Up” Training

I'm struggling with being locked in and focusing on me, in terms of my business dreams, as well as physical health. Ideas please.

You can do it, Kat.
1) Have a goal you want that is stronger than all else.
2) Lock everything else out - kids, going out, reading a book, watching TV, and of course all other emails except the pertinent ones, and work 24/7.
3) And for heaven's sake. Put all of your bills on AUTO PAY.
4) Take a nap and try to focus.

If this doesn't work, try telling your hubby that you need to focus.

Oh my god Kat, I just had to play just a little. But seriously, just work at it.

I pick number (1) one. It will work best.

Clarence

Thanks Clarence :D

Believe me, Kat, we are all pulling for you - just like family.

I can be a little bit playful sometimes, but we are all here for you on your journey. Just stay the course, stay the journey, stay with the training - which can sometimes be information overload, but it's great learning.

Please have a passion for your niche, or the journey will not be fun and active for you.

Have fun on your journey young lady. Along with the rest of the family...I am following you.

Hello,

I concur with what others had to suggest earlier.

But I would set some boundaries- set limits and how long you'll spend time on your work, and balancing it with personal time. Map out your schedule on a daily or weekly basis helps (I do it most of the time).

I hope that helps. All the best- take care,

-Eric

You’ve got great answers here. I use a combination of what all the other members mentioned. In addition, I also use an editorial calendar, time management software (to record my activity and improve efficiency) and notifications on my phone.

It also sounds like you may be struggling with boundaries since you mentioned a baby and your husband. For my baby, I had to be disciplined about being on a consistent schedule, so I could have a pattern of work times. I knew If I consistently put her down for naps and to bed at night, I could work while she slept.

I also found ways to keep her entertained, tried to build friendships with family, moms and widows who could advise or lend a hand, and tried to build her independence. I also joined the YMCA where they have childcare.

For my husband, I had to communicate my goals, see how much we could help one another, and when he didn’t take them seriously, I had to grit my teeth and prove myself.

Once I started earning enough, I hired nannies, babysitters, and sent my kids out for childcare. Mostly sending them out though.

It’s all a work in progress. Sometimes, it can be uncomfortable. Stay encouraged.

Thank you for your wisdom. Boundaries have been an issue with her since birth as she has sleep apnea and had acid reflux as an infant. Bad habits in the process of change to be honest.

Here in TN I had a good thing going with Mom's Day Out... COVID-19 has shut that one down for a bit. This too shall pass, and I WILL overcome. I just needed some ideas.

Here's to your Happy, Healthy, and Wealthy,

Kathy

create a dream board - what are you doing this for - write it down - find images of what you want and place them were you see them first thing in the morning - remind yourself of what you are goingto achieve.
break large projects down into little steps and just do the little steps - do at least one little thing every day to move your business forward.
tha main thing is to have a goal- that thing you started this for - make it visible -even give it a time scale.
hope you manage to find some focus
phil

I love dream boards, and that will help me SEE what I want.

Thank you,

Kathy

In my opinion, it starts with passion. Did you pick a niche you really love? This will be the lighthouse that will help you focus now and for the future. Once you have that down, the rest comes way easier.

Sometimes, burnouts happen too and in those cases, take a break and come back to it later, even if it's a few days. Sometimes walking a way and taking a break is the best option too.

Thank you. I may be in the wrong niche, I really don't know. Overwhelm right now for sure since being laid off and stressed.

Kathy

Well this is bound to happen a lot in this time especially Kathy. Sorry to hear about the situation. Here is how I pick out niches:
