Trial and Error: Can I save you a headache?
Ive been having the hardest time! So I wanted to share my end results in the hope that I could maybe save you some time too!
> Firstly for me getting the mail chimp plug in is a must. I'm no stranger to a bit of coding but I really struggled here by adding the forms directly to the html. With the plug in you create the form 'from the front end' and on te proviso you have an account with mailchimp and a created audience this works really well.
>Secondly always make sure you check out what your site looks like on a mobile phone/tablet! The style of my website meant that it took a lot of scrolling to get to the sign up and as most people use their phones (I believe) it is a must to be compatible. So I got around this in a really neat way. I created a page and used the short code direct copy and paste job, and there it was. Also having uit at the top means visitors (When I get some!) will see it straight away.
Just a couple of things but it took me a few days to tackle and as I said, hopefully I can save someone out there some time and grief
