Mystery Shopping but with Phone Calls
So I tried something new and another way to make money online. This is a project I got on Remote.com (formerly Outsource).
It is mystery shopping except I am visiting the shop via phone and not in person.
I disguise myself as an interested customer who responded to their TV commercial. I do not mention I respond to the TV commercial unless I am asked. I am in no way to tell the customer service rep that I am on an assignment. I have to act interested in the product.
I note down the phone number and company called, the date and time, and if the agent was friendly, helpful, seemed agitated, etc. If the agent persuades me to buy the product, I just resist and say I will think about it and call you back later.
It is an easy assignment and pays good money.
There are options for mystery shopping in-person which I am considering in the near future.

I hope this continues well Karin. Some scammers send a bogus check for mystery shopping activity and then try to get you to give inside information for "good faith" in performing the transactions necessary! Always ensure it will pass acceptance by your bank!
These are done through a freelancing platform and I'm still paid directly by the platform, remote.com. If the payment were to come outside of remote.com I would not accept.
Will be more careful from now on when picking up the phone. It might be you at the other end. Just kidding.

Yes, i think it is a modern way of taking surveys, also it is a way to improve customer service.
That's why customer service reps have to be careful and not have a bad attitude - it could be a mystery shopper calling!
@ericpierre As a customer advisor in my 9-5job, I can assure you both that I'm pretty sure at times I was on the phone to a mystery 'customer' :)
That is very good, I did not know it could be done like that. I have been wanting to do it but I do not want to drive to the stores. I hope you will make a lot of money.

Try Remote.com for mystery calling. As I said to Giulia, Upwork has some but not for the best pay.
Karin, this is the spookiest thing ever, because I was just browsing on WA earlier on to see if anyone knew of any mystery shopping affiliate program. And here you are, only a few hours after, writing about it.
I did a spot of mystery shopping a couple of years ago, where in 3 months I put together some £100. Not brilliant, but not bad either.
So, for my site, can you advise of any mystery shopping affiliate program?

Wow, yes that is scary. If you'd like to do mystery shopping for in-person jobs, ShadowShopper is a good one. If you dont have time to drive to stores an would like to do mystery phone calling, I got this particular project on Remote.com. Upwork has some but their pay isn't the best for the work that needs to be done.
