In the jungle... the mighty jungle... (Admit it, if you know the song, you started singing along!)
Seriously, though... Welcome to the Jungle, we got fun and games... (Guns N Roses fans, you were singing again, weren't you!?)
But I was thinking about the jungle the other day and all the sorts of animals that live there. It made me start to think about what kind of animal I am and what kind of animal I would like to become.
I don't know if there are meerkats in the jungle, but for a long time I have lived the life of the meerkat... digging tunnels and hiding. But there are a lot of good things about meerkats, too. They are also very protective of the mob they live in. Meerkats watch over while the others eat, so they can be safe while they eat. They take turns watching the young. They are family-oriented. I also just checked, and they apparently live mostly in the desert.

So, in our example, the jungle is right next to the desert! LOL
I think I have been mostly living the Disney Lion King 1 1/2 version of the meerkat.... digging tunnels and hiding from hyenas.
I am not sure how the lion became the king of the jungle, especially since they also live in desert areas! But I want to become more like the lion. Or more specifically, the lioness. Lionesses are the real MVPs of the savanna. They hunt, they do a lot of things (which don't get me wrong, the lion does too, but he also powernaps for 16-20 hours a day, that desert sun is no joke!).
I'm still torn on whether being the lioness is better than being the meerkat, which has always been a downfall for me... I hesitate to make a decision, and as we know, hesitation kills. I guess if the lioness hesitated when she went out to hunt, there would be a lot of hungry lions!
So my new goal for the week is to make a decision and to follow through with it. Perhaps that will be deciding to be brave, to take the steps of the lioness and boldly take on a foe (my biggest foe is indecision, in case I wasn't clear about that!).
