Staying in Wonderland [Lessons from The Matrix Part 5]
What does staying in Wonderland mean and what does it have to do with The Matrix? Well, Alice, sit back and let's look at what that means. (By the way, it really doesn't have to do with Alice in Wonderland.)
A quick recap
Neo has decided to stay in the car and take a different path. He isn't fully sure what all this means, but he is going to find out. Very soon!
Red Pill vs. Blue Pill
We are all given this choice. We can take the blue pill and the story ends, we wake up in our own bed and can believe whatever we want.
Or we can take the red pill and stay in Wonderland and find out how deep the rabbit hole really goes.
I would like to think that I would have always taken the red pill offered by Morpheus and have stayed in Wonderland, but the truth is, up until a few years ago I would have ALWAYS taken the blue pill.
I wanted things known and safe. I wanted that path that I always took and knew so well. I would spout off all sorts of oaths and bitterness about how my life sucked, but the truth is, I would have chosen the same instead of the unknown.
When I joined Wealthy Affiliate, I believe I took the red pill.
So what does taking the red pill mean for us at WA?
Taking the red pill means we are willing to take a different path. We are willing to see things with differnt eye and from a different view.
This photo is one I took through the window of my car or more precisely, at the window of my car. I saw an entire world in those ice crystal formations on my window. A Wonderland of sorts.
I could have easily used my hand to warm the glass and wipe this "world" away. Instead, I chose to see it. I chose to let my eyes focus on the little river that runs through it and the sprawling pine forest that surrounds it. I chose to see the rain and the sky.
How can we take the red pill?
When we write our blogs, write them with conviction and heart. Write them with compassion and empathy.
Write them as something we ourselves would want to read!
Anyone can write drivel. It takes a "red pill" attitude to write something that reaches the hearts, souls and minds of our potential readers and customers.
Down the Rabbit Hole
So get your glass of water ready or be prepared to dry swallow that red pill! It will make all the difference!

You're right.We all have to take that step into the unknown, but some of us just take a little longer at the entrance. It's all about that first step- or in this case the first swallow. After the first step--we find out it's not so bad.
For me, it would have to be a bit larger hole! LOL
I hesitated at the entrance for a long time. Now I am working on being all in!

Been awhile, but I thought I'd chime in here as I had to find where I'd left off on your Matrix posts! I definitely agree that red pill is what I'd want...love your analogy with the car window and ice...it does look like another world! I find myself doing that a lot, lol!
Well, my hubby and I did take that red pill for awhile earlier in life, but didn't have the guidance to know what we were doing...so, my hubby and I failed quite marvelously at our first business attempt in network marketing. We were barely out of high school, and everyone we knew kept saying "oh, you kids! It won't work, we already tried that stuff...just keep working your "good" job!"
Unfortunately, we let the people we thought knew best to slip us that blue pill again and gave up on it...guess we weren't ready for the red one yet. So, for many years we followed what everyone said is the best thing to do...throw your dreams away, and get a "good" job and you'll be all set for life...haha! Yeah, all set for a life of misery is more like it!
Anyways, I guess I never really listened to the naysayers and gave up on my dreams entirely, but instead hid them away until finding that lovely red pill again...I think the white rabbit must have been running with it, as he was late as usual, I believe. He was leading me back down the rabbit hole to see what wonders I could find for some time..and, yes, there at last it was, the red pill, which we all know as WA!
Looking forward to reading more of the Matrix posts in the days ahead..I have some catching up to do, lol! Thanks for sharing and inspiring us all.
