Judge by the seeds that you sow
Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant. ~ Robert Louis Stevenson
If we judged each day by the harvest we reap, we probably would give up on our dreams of business ownership well before we ever began.
There are those that reap that which they did not sow, but most of us have to do the sowing and the reaping all by ourselves (with the occasional help from a comrade).
For most of us, the sense of fulfillment and satisfaction that comes from doing something on our own beats out the agony that comes from the hard work required. For me personally, that hard work is worth the end result(s).
You may have heard the phrase that the "ends justifies the means." In this instance, the rewards of having a user-friendly, helpful website (that may or may not bring us an income) justifies the hard and persistent work that it takes to get there.
The ultimate goal (outside of providing something useful and beneficial) is that we make money from creating and working on our websites.
My goal for my websites are to not only give resources to people, but also to make enough money that I can comfortably retire from my day job.
What are your goals for your website(s)?
As you think about it, remember this quote from Thich Nhat Hanh, "We have more possibilities available in each moment than we realize."
What are you doing in this moment to realize your dreams?
I'm going to work on one of my dreams right now!
Best wishes,
Karin :)

Really great post!
It's true the harvests are not always very successful at first. But it's also true that if we give up at the first bad harvest we will never get anywhere. We are the farmers of the internet world and we must have the patience of a farmer to see our seeds become beautiful and fruitful harvests. The long time may seem ungrateful, but it's the best way to have a stable and important income, I think.
Have a beautiful day!!

Thank you, Ingrid. I know I use farming metaphors a lot when I write... that is my experience. It seems so appropriate—Farmers of the Internet. I love it!
Hope you have a beautiful day, too!
Best wishes,
Karin 😁
Oh man, thank you so much for the perspective. It is so vitally important to keep this in mind. Yes, it is easy to get overwhelmed and discouraged when you get nearsighted and mistake what we are getting from what we are doing.
Again, thank you so much and many blessings.
You're welcome. Hope all is going well for you. It is easy to look at the short-term and become discouraged, but the long-term is where the fruits are!
Best wishes,
Karin 😁
Hi Karin,
My goals are the same as yours,
Work on my websites to impart help, guidance and tips to my audience and earn some money.
We need to stay focused on our dreams...

Thank you for commenting, Louise. Putting first things first is so important in what we do. If we offer help and guidance and tips, I believe the money will follow.
Our dreams can lead the way.
Best wishes,
Karin 😁
Hi Karin,
Good post, as usual. I'm not sure I'm doing something for my dreams. Dreams and reality seldom come together.
I keep telling myself that I have invested too much in this enterprise to quit now so, I'm trying to spruce up my websites so more people should stop by. Hopefully, some day I'll have something on my site that someone would like to buy.
I hear you, Barb. If I went by my dreams, I would still be in bed enjoying a nice long sleep while dreaming about fairies and unicorns! LOL
Seriously though, turning our dreams into our realities is difficult, but I don't believe it is impossible.
I hope that someday your sites produce the results you seek.
Best wishes,
Karin 😁

For me money is the secondary goal
My goal is to open people eyes to what is really happening around them, conservation, eco friendly, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, honey bees to name a few and how humans can save us from climate change.....its almost too late!
Plastic Free July 2019 can you do it?
Daisy
Great goal, Daisy.
Best wishes,
Karin :)
