Hi,
I just realised I made a spelling error on my domain name. I was so excited that it worked both on name mesh and on the SiteDomain search that I consequently made th
Ask your registrar to delete the "typo" domain name and buy a new one. I guess all of the registrars do give five days of deletion period.
Contact the support of the registrar and they will inform you, if they have this system or not!
Hope it helps
Best wishes
I agree with what Stefan said. Your domain is your brand, Jaco, so imagine the number of people who come across your site and see an error right in the website's name. They say first impressions are critical, so your domain name is just that, people's first impression.
I don't know how much it cost you to purchase the domain, but the bigger picture is making sure that your site represents you accurately, so I would highly recommend that you buy a new one with the correct site name, and just consider it a lesson learned.
Hi Veronica,
Thanks for the advice. It was luckily not that expensive but lesson learnt. I want to take this seriously and cannot afford small errors costing success so rather correct now than be sorry later.
Jaco
Sounds like a wise decision. I'm certain you won't be making this mistake ever again, lol.
Hi, a domain name is your brand, so I think it's vital to keep it error free.
I would correct now because if you regret and decide to buy another domain later, you will have to give up on the authority and rankings of your old domain.
But of course, it's your decision.
Hi Stefan.
Thanks for answering my question. I have already purchased though so how do I correct or do I have to start over?
No problem. Unfortunately, you have to buy another domain. There is no way to edit. That's why it's better to get another one, otherwise, you will have to live with this error for as long as your site exists.
You can keep working on your siterubix for some time and purchase your domain later. In the beginning, it won't make much difference.
In my opinion, the domain name is an issue if you have done a "typo" type of error. The domain name is the keyword of your project right? But people looking for the "typo" are how many?
It will matter for ranking purpose, but if you have healthy content and have several articles focussed on your niche and keywords (which eventually will happen), it should not make much of the difference.
I don't know what an expert have to say about it. I don't consider myself as an expert, as I am still learning stuff and it is a never-ending process.
Best wishes
Not really. Unless you want to purchase the right way. My domain is grammatically incorrect and does fine. Its the content that matters the most :) Just spell your logo and everything visual right and you'll be fine!
Hope this helps :)

Thanks Marlinda,
This makes me feel better. It is not that obvious the error (one letter missing) but all the other stuff is at least correct.
