Family life and online work
The desire to have more time for my family in moments that matter was my main reason for starting working online . That's my biggest WHY.
My parents are elder and need more and more care, which I can give to them quite easily, because I made my work location independent, after 2 decades of working as a maternity nurse with young families at home. (very location dependent!)
But it's not only about care giving in trying times, it's also about being able to celebrate life together, about quality time spent with the people that matter most.
This week I am only working little fractions of time, because my father had his 78th birthday, my sister in law turned 50 and we have a salsa congress this weekend.
How cool is that, being able to adjust your work schedule to your personal life!
Ofcourse I will have to work hard and smart next week, to fill in for all the time taken off projects this week, but I am fine with that!
I am eager to come back to WA , which is a good sign. Apart from being a Virtual Assistant, I am really motivated to create my own 'affiliate income by blogging' business. Can't wait to learn more and write more!

That freedom to be our own boss is definitely the goal with huge benefits. So great that you are able to take care of your parents.

Happy to hear that you have your priorities in order Klaartje!
Family and loved always come first in my book!
Take care my friend and all the very best for the future!
yes, same for me, nothing is more important than family and love. It is a rich feeling to be able to make these choices.
Thank you, Muslimah. After doing a lot for my parents, I was able to find some extra help besides me and my brother for them. This way, I can still spend a lot of quality time with them, but basic care can also be done by others. This brings us even more flexibility.
That is definitely a primary motivation for being self-employed, and / or makinging money online, Klaatje! Excellent motivation, indeed!

yes, it is great to be able to go to scheduled therapy sessions or doctor visits during day time, I don't need to tell you that! You do the same for Monica if I am not mistaken?
I do, indeed, Klaartje, and the fact that I have been selved employed for 32 years, including my time on WA, this makes it possible!

wow, thanks Frank! I do not always feel like a great daughter, can be impatient sometimes, but am trying to be a good support person to them.
My priorities are right - at least by my own standards ;-)
Well done on taking care of your parents
That's an amazing responsibility
Happy birthday to your dad. That's an important milestone
Looking forward to you be back here.
There are great things for you to achieve
Thank you Simone! Signing off WA for now, but reluctantly, it's very addictive now that I have the focused, productive mindset I need ...
Happy 78th to your Dad :) - Thank you for sharing a wonderful blog post. I totally hear you. And so welcome back and good to have you here with us.
Thanks! My real come back here at WA will be after this weekend, today I have a one-hour window for WA, because I couldn't stand the thought of doing nothing here for 5 days...

Heck, skip the "affiliate income by blogging" site. Write one sharing all the maternity knowledge you have! That will take you quite far, and once that one is successful you will have even more success with the MMO site because you will be writing from a position of knowledge rather than writing a book report.
Hmm, I still have an older site about maternity care and baby-related topics, maybe I can revive that one too... I started with a new website about hiking to become healthy again when I started out in WA. That's the one I am working on right now, for my training level 3.
Thanks for pointing out, that I have a vast amount of information right at my fingertips! (I almost forgot about that ...)
