Getting out of Your own Way!
Hey team!
I struggle with this and my guess is that I am not the only one that does. I feel that sometimes when it comes to procrastination, it's really a tool we use as an excuse to be lazy! I get it people. We have other things we would rather be doing. We would rather sit and watch our favorite television show or watch a random video compilation of dogs talking (I just recently watched this and it's awesome!). But ask yourselves this question. Is this helping me change my situation? The answer is no! You're just pushing yourself further and further away from accomplishing your goals. I know it's hard to break habits. I know you'd rather instantly watch your favorite tv show the moment it comes on but trust and believe me that that show is only helping you make interesting conversation at work with your coworkers. Sure, you will have a great conversation at work about the last episode How To Get Away With Murder ( Love this show!) but it is Interesting conversation at a job you hate. Is that all you want? Is that why you became a member of Wealthy Affiliate?
The solution to this is is to be strong. Evaluate your priorities and figure out what is important to you. Figure out what it is that you need to do that will help you achieve your goals. Stop being selfish with yourself. You want to do things that makes you feel good instantly. Going through these steps with Wealthy Affiliate will require you to make some sacrifices. To put a good effort into this investment, (which is an investment in yourself) you will need to make time for it. What helps me get through it is that my overall goal is to travel whenever the hell I want to. I want to quit my job and work from home or anywhere I damn please. I got to form new habits that's going to make these goals become my reality.
I hope my words reach some of you and help you focus on your true goals in life.

Kachina, Very interesting way to look at your reality of life. When you have the desire, along with determination, plus discipline, I call them the three D's. That's quite a combination which leads to success. That will get you along the way. Great post.
Nice inspirational post. You are on track with procrastination. But do you know why it makes us lazy? Because we are avoiding the possible outcomes of fear of failure or fear of success. We are afraid of failing because our ego is so very sensitive. And we also fear success because we don't know how we'll handle it or what comes next. I believe the two fears are strongly connected with each other on a subconscious level. But the only way to get past this is just by doing it. Have you watched Shia Lebouf's Just Do It video on YouTube? It's pretty awesome. YouTube it and you'll see what I'm talking abut :)
yES! I've seen it. It is pretty awesome but it is as simple as the video. Just do It!!!!! lol
Yeah! Sometimes it is so difficult to start things. I am the worst procrastinator sometimes. But I honestly think that we procrastinate because we don't want to see ourselves fail. Or that we don't want to see ourselves succeed because it will hurt a lot if we fail afterwards because we let our ego get the better of ourselves. But the latter is more complicated. Haha. I have thought about this stuff a lot.
