Lessons Learned by a WA Rookie
I’ve only been a member of Wealthy
Affiliate for a short time, and I’ve just completed the tenth lesson of the
Introductory Course. In this brief time I have gained some very valuable information,
and not just from those lessons pertaining to Affiliate Marketing.
No, this is not about the technical
aspects of our endeavor, but rather how to go about getting the most from what
is offered within the site and the community of WA. After upgrading to the
Premium Membership, which I highly recommend, I began to receive greetings from
people I didn’t know who were simply wishing me the best in my venture and
wanting to make a connection, and often extending a helping hand should I ever
need it. This is unusual, not just in the Internet community, but also
throughout most societies in the world today. I feel like just being a part of
the community here is good Karma. When you do sign up, whether for the free
membership or the Premium, I advise you to acknowledge all those who contact
you and to be as friendly with them as they are with you. It’s a nice
professional courtesy and it keeps the goodwill of WA alive. Also, send a word
of thanks as an acknowledgment in the comments section after watching the video
trainings. I know they appreciate it.
When going through your lessons,
(and DO go through and complete them), don’t just scrape by with the bare
minimum tasks, but instead, try doing them a couple of times or more so that
you really get it down and understand what you’re doing. Open up your own site
and follow along with the lesson in a new window, re-doing anything you don’t
quite get. The lessons are fairly easy and they’re done on a nice gradient,
with each successive one building on the earlier knowledge gained.
Ask for help if you need it.
Everyone seems to be saying that they’re available, and I know that there is no
shortage of good and experienced people who are offering assistance, so take
them up on their offer. As a general rule, successful people get a great deal
of happiness and satisfaction from helping others who are in the position they
once were. Show your appreciation for them when they do, and I’ll wager that
they’ll be even happier to have helped than you will be to have received it.
There are probably many other
nuggets of wisdom to be had, and things that you could get from others of
whatever experience level, but the last and most important bit of information
that I’ve been privileged to learn during my short time with WA is just this:
Follow the directions and instructions of the experts of this site, Kyle and
Carson and the others who are giving their valuable time to help you through
the difficult learning process of Affiliate Marketing. I, for one, appreciate
what I’m being given and would like to make the most of it. It’s FUN, and I
think that when you throw yourself into it fully, you enjoy in even more,
because you’ll get more out of it. Honest, it really is fun!
Oops, I nearly forgot something. It is a hill I have yet to climb, at least with WA. It comes from my experience
and repeated failures throughout my life, and there are many. The last piece of
advice I can offer, from my rookie viewpoint, is to keep going and don’t give
up. Make sure you understand each step, and then take the next one. If you have
a goal, and it is an ethical goal, you’ll never regret continuing to push
forward, because as you do so, if you push hard enough, whatever forces may be acting
against you will eventually give in and fold.
Take the advice of Winston
Churchill: “If you’re going through hell, then KEEP GOING.”
All my best,

Some great advice so far. It is good that you are sharing your experience here with the new people, (and old). Because that would help the new people feel more comfortable that other people who haven't been here that long are saying this things. Really enjoyed it!
Thanks a lot, skyhorse! In part, I wanted to acknowledge the people here and keep the community flowing with the positive I see everywhere. I would hope both new and old get a little something out of it, whether it's a little encouragement or just a small reminder of what a great community Kyle and Carson and the guys have created. I really appreciate your input!
