From Skeptic to Convert: 5 Main Ingredients of WA's Success Formula
So I took the plunge with the $19 first month offer 2 weeks ago and felt that I should take stock of my journey this far. And I can honestly say I have already learnt and achieved more in a couple of weeks then I ever expected!
Skeptic and Scam Detective
When I started, I was skeptical about the comments and claims about the community and quality of the help at WA, and dismissed a lot of it as marketing hype. My starting point was just to find out if Wealthy Affiliate was a scam?
Now I can happily pronounce that YOU have all won me over. Not just Carson and Kyle who created this brilliant platform, but all of YOU at WA who have been part of my growth and learning thus far. My experience with the quality of the training and community here has been pretty incredible.
Musings of A Convert
This has led me to try to articulate what I believe are the 5 top reasons why WA works and works so well:
- WA leverages and amplifies win-win partnerships:
- First, WA helps you the individual to win - by providing the training to take the first steps, and the environment, tools and support to build your own virtual empire. The basic training is well-structured and designed to help you apply what you learn and set
achievable goals that contribute your success. These include having to do the
actual work of setting up your website, writing a certain number of posts based on the tips you learn.
And whenever I’ve been stuck on anything, I’ve just had to pour my doubts into a question at the "Need help June?" search bar at the top of the WA Platform and so many helpful search results would miraculously materialise - blogs, tutorials, training by those who have been there and done that before me! - Then, the system reinforces sharing, paying it forward and giving back through rankings and other rewards. For example, by building into the process the requirements of providing 2 site feedback and comments to receive 1 back, designing an algorithm that weights contributions to the community whether by blogging, commenting, providing training, answering questions or welcoming newbies into the community, the entire model is designed to help others to help yourself.

- WA incorporates both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
- Rising through the ranks, gaining status and visibility on the platform, making money applying what we learn at WA, receiving thanks from those you touch or help along the way - all these are external rewards that keep fueling your progress.
- At the same time, we gain so much personal satisfaction in our accomplishments and so much encouragement and support along the way that we intrinsically want to experience more.
- Rising through the ranks, gaining status and visibility on the platform, making money applying what we learn at WA, receiving thanks from those you touch or help along the way - all these are external rewards that keep fueling your progress.
- WA empowers you and allows you to stand on the shoulders of giants. By providing such easy access to the experience and expertise of others in the community, WA has allowed each of us to benefit from others and become better at what we are here to do.
- WA provides the perfect blend of teaching you to fish and sharing the best recipes and interesting cooking techniques to try. The initial training forces you to take your own steps to start something for yourself. And then once you have cast your initial tentative line into the waters, you gain access to a community that happily helps you improve by learning and trying new things.
- WA never forgets it's all about people. Here, we are reminded to offer value to our readers, to write to meet their needs. We are encouraged to welcome newbies, share our successes and knock-backs with a community which celebrates and commiserates with you so we never feel alone or lost (at least not for long!). We can offer our expertise to others in need of help and guidance.
Carpe Diem
Yes, maybe I am still new and slightly naive. Yes, there are those who try to game the system. Yes, there are flaws and areas of improvement. And I am grateful to those who share their views on the good and the bad about WA so we can all learn and better understand this virtual universe we are living and working within. Whatever our personal reasons for being on WA, we have a vested interest in its success!
But hey, no person, system or community is perfect. Together, we can make WA better to benefit ourselves, our families, the founders, as well as the friends and strangers who may benefit from it in the future.
Doesn't it feel great that each of us can play a part in making a difference?

Great post June. Love your recipe analogy for WA training. This is indeed an excellent place to learn how to create an online business. The community is 2nd to none as well.
Wishing you every success here at WA. Reach out if you need anything.
For we're here to learn and to pursue our goals, it also helps serving others by offering our experiences and knowledge for those who may need most while searching their way forward. We may not know everything, but something we do know can improve or make a difference for the community and their members as a group, what makes WA a great place to be is we are sharing and learning together. Wishing you every success June on your journey forward, if anything I can help, I am always here for you.
