Perspective - the things kids say.
I just had to share this. I was just thinking about the changes that each generation has lived through over the years. Technological advancements have been extensive and at times mind blowing. What does the future hold?
I was having a conversation recently with my son (he was 10 at the time - he has just turned 11). I was discussing with him how, when I was a kid, we didn't have electronic games, computers, ipads, ipods, the internet etc etc - this list is fairly long. A lot of things my children just take for granted.
After pondering this discussion for a moment he then asked "Did you even have electricity????"
Hmmm...first of all, I am not that old!! And second, electricity was not invented for the sole purpose of powering electronic devices! It is interesting the view that children often have of "their world".
Perhaps there is the solution to getting kids off electronics - turn off the electricity!

Yes, that works! We had a mobile home for the youth- (age14-16) and when they made to much noise, we could pull the plug on them inside our house;)

As Loes says. Thank goodness for the off switch. There are many times we've threatened to pull the breaker!
I don't just threaten.....! Luckily my son is very creative and when he is forced to be off electronics I am amazed at how readily he amuses himself - and without the aid of electricity!!!!!
