Day 1 at WA

This is a retrospective blog as yesterday (April 2nd, 2013) was actually my first real day here at WA. I was blown away at how awesome the experience was. I spent a little time writing up some personal information and then entered a live chat in the starter area and before long I had some followers.I'm not sure how this even happened, but I guess there must be a thread somewhere showing newbies actions.

My first follower was 'jkellernm' and for this I am truly grateful. I'll be taking time out to look over at his blog and website to see how an experienced hand, here at WA, does what he does. My next was Kyle and this following makes sense to me. As one of the founders, I'm sure he takes it on his shoulders to follow everyone in the community and make sure they are welcomed right from the beginning. The only following I fully understand is JGX4 (Jackie) as I met her in the open chat, and because she was so welcoming and friendly I sought her out, read some entries in her blog and began following her. However, whatever the reason, and however the following process takes place, I look forward to getting to know everyone much better as I spend more time here at WA.

As for the rest, I took a little time to explore and watch some of the starter videos, read some blogs and just generally acquaint myself with the site. I also got back to my followers by leaving a little thank you message and began to follow them. I think the reciprocal nature of this site is one of its major strengths and by becoming an active member here and getting involved I'm sure that my time will be well spent.

Now it's time to get ready for Day 2, but first I have a JOB to get ready for. While at this early stage I still need to be making sure some money is coming in from a more traditional route, so I am hoping my agency will be calling me today with some supply teaching work.

So, that's my Day 1 experiences written up and off to the shower I head. It's 06:08 on a beautiful Friday morning. Life is good. I'm healthy, my families healthy, the sun is up, and everything else is a bonus. If you are reading this thank you for taking the time. Any constructive criticism most welcome.

Peace and love,

Jules x

Hello Jules. I wished I had seen your post sooner but I've had family all weekend - not a good excuse but it has been manic here. Thank you so much for your lovely words in your post. It made me feel really special. I hope you are getting on well with the training and getting the hang of things. I'm at one of those points where I can't decide which way to turn but I'm sure I'll turn a corner soon. Take care and keep in touch. Jackie x

Hi Jackie. Don't worry about not seeing my post sooner. It looks like we were both enjoying the long weekend, our families and the sun. I'm making no excuses for having a good time and enjoying the life I ultimately want more of. My family is one of the major reasons I'm here, because I want to have more freedom and dance to the beat of my own drum. It's early days but I can see that in this community, with so many like-minded people it is a real possibility.

As for the kind words, I guess it's about receiving that which you give. I've been reading and you are very good at giving Jackie. I'm only too glad to make that reciprocal. Best wishes, Jules x

Welcome to WA, keep up the positive feeling and its works. A little each day enhances your day job/life too! Look forward to sharing.

Thanks for the kind words. It's nice to know that I'm on the right tracks and I'll certainly do my best to keep the positive feeling. Julesx
