Best Laid Plans?

Today Thursday 30th April was the day my firstborn was to make his Confirmation.
Confirmation is also one of the three sacraments of initiation into the Catholic Church, the other two being Baptism and Holy Communion.
Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus his Confirmation did not happen today.
All is not lost, he will be confirmed - some day - his church and his school are working towards setting a date for this sacrament in the future, in whatever way that celebration will now look.
Amidst all the uncertainty that is happening in the world I am immensely proud of this young man and how resilient he has become in recent weeks especially facing such uncertain times in what is his last year of Primary School.
I firmly believe the inner strengths which he has drawn on recently to get through each and every day and the ability to remain the same happy and confident boy throughout will surely stand to him as he embarks on his journey into adolescence.
I am reminded time and time again to take each day at a time, over come each obstacle one by one and always keep an open mind to what might lie ahead.
“Sometimes you have to let go of the picture of what you thought life would be like and learn to find joy in the story you are actually living.” ~ Rachel Marie MartinThe past is gone, the future has not yet happened, the present is ours to shape and mould - it is a true gift of life.
If you are feeling anxious in the current climate - STOP and take some time OUT.
We are all in the same BOAT. We are NOT all in the same STORM...
- Go Outside to Nature
- Ask someone for Help
- Create Something
- Write about how you feel
- Take a deep breath
- Listen to soothing music
- Find a positive distraction
- SMILE, you don't own all the problems in the world
- STAY PRESENT
And remember your MIND will always believe everything you TELL it...
FEED it HOPE, FEED it TRUTH, FEED it LOVE.
Good evening dear WA friends and be well, Jules
Living in the now. (I actually typo'd 'loving' which works as well)
A concept that should be adopted by the many rather than the few.
As should the realisation you pointed out in the last few lines.
The brain cannot tell the difference between fact or fantasy.
When that penny drops, wow.
