I wanted to share some food for thought quickly.

I've been listening to the classic self development book Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill as an audio book every now and then lately.

While there are several laws and rules in the book he lays out, he refers to a secret, that you the reader have to read between the lines.

I think I have realized what the secret of this book is.

Now I'm not a religious person, but this might seem familiar, especially to those who are.

I think the secret in this book is:

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

You see, there are several references in the book how everything in the universe is connected on a deep fundamental level.

You and everyone else are connected.

You and your environment are connected.

You and I are connected.

This means in a way you are your customer.

You want to treat your customer as yourself.

I know this sounds trippy and new-ageish, you don't have to believe it, but quantum physics and theory of relativity both support this notion.

So here's a thought. When you create content, try your hardest to step into the shoes of your reader. Read the content like you were actually looking for the information yourself.

Are you answering the questions?

Is your content easy to follow?

Are you writing in a suitable tone considering the topic?

Are your motives to help the reader or to trick them to buy something? (Remember, you are tricking yourself...)

Are you simply put writing content you would enjoy reading yourself?

This little role-play will help you take your content to another level. I'm absolutely convinced that content created this way will provide more success in the long run.

That's my short insight for this evening.
