How To Get Unstuck.

We all have those days when it feels like our get up and go must of got up and went... I sure know that I do. That's when it's time to get busy and to get unstuck.

It seems to be a universal thing as creators and those are the times when it's more important than ever to figure out the right way to manage yourself and your work. After all, that's what will help you to keep creating good work that will take you in the right direction of your online goals. Here's some of my favorite ways to get unstuck... in a hurry!

Positive Surroundings

We are so fortunate at Wealthy Affiliate to have a network right here waiting for us when we need it. When you're feeling stuck this is the place to be... You do not need to catch up with your friend who always dismisses your ideas and is always able to find a way to make things not work. The people around you impact your motivation and drive. So, stop spending time with those negative people and start surrounding yourself with positive people who edify you. Choose wisely and surround yourself with positive energy.

A Podcast

Catching a good podcast is an awesome way to get your performance back on track. Even taking a quick 15 minutes to get outside for a walk and to plug into some new content will bring your mojo back. Alex Sol has an amazing podcast called the Extra Paycheck Podcast where you'll always find something inspiring. There are plenty of people online who can motivate you – whether it’s through the content on their blog, a book or their social media feed. Social media can quickly drag you down, so find uplifting, motivational feeds and boost your drive and do stay away from the cat videos!

High-Energy Music

Never underestimate the power of music. Create a playlist with upbeat music that you can listen to throughout your work. Now, if you are easily distracted, music with lyrics may affect your focus. So, find the right balance. There’s a reason that people listen to upbeat music at the gym, it keeps them pumped and focused. It works for the workday or big projects, too. It’s also a great way to shut the world out. Take a break from time to time, stretch out and dance and move to some of your favorite music... you'll come back to work feeling happy, inspired and ready to create some epic content.

Find Optimism

Pessimism and negativity are exhausting, and they are a quick way to completely drain your energy levels and your motivation. Of course, that suggests that optimism does the opposite (and it does). When you find yourself faced with a setback, start looking for the positives of the situation. It’s the surest way to push through. Never allow yourself to really get down about anything. Ask yourself if it's going to matter in 5 years... chances are excellent that it won't so do not let a small hiccup take away today's happiness and joy. Invest your time and energy figuring out how you can make it work and you'll be amazed at just how easy it is to figure pretty much everything out. As the brilliant Marie Forleo says "it's all figureoutable".

Gratitude

You may wonder what this has to do with motivation… but, when you start to feel it slip take a moment to look through the lens of gratitude. Look at everything in your life and what your hard work has reaped. It could be your partner or perhaps children, but it could be as simple as having access to food and clean water and having a roof over your head. There’s always something to be grateful for, and that in itself can be a motivation. We are so incredibly blessed to have access to creating online income and the incredible community and the knowledge here at Wealthy Affiliate... just remember to login and get to work! The rewards are waiting for you.

What do you do when you're feeling uninspired?

This is great, Judy! For anyone feeling stuck for any specific project, I recommend Steven Pressfield's book, Do the Work -- it's a concise paperback that helps you karate chop through your own self-resistance aka procrastination...

For anyone feeling stuck in any area of life and/or for any creative project, listen to Tony Robbin's Personal Power II audio program -- from day one you will begin to take specific actions to get you unstuck (guided/written exercises after the audio sessions each day,) building daily to bigger and bigger steps to help yourself get unstuck.

Your post is inspiring me to go back and listen to Tony's Personal Power II audio program again! (I listen to inspirational/empowering videos/audio/Ted Talks etc first thing in the morning while I work out.) Lifecycling, treadmill, and/or lifting weights etc WHILE feeding your mind. :)

But what I like most about Tony Robbins (Personal Power audio) is that he gets you to TAKE ACTION, immediately, daily, consistently, and he helps you to figure out what it is you want for your life, as well as having goals and "whys" exciting enough to get you to want to take continuous action towards building the life you want in every area of your life.

There is a reason why everyone from top athletes to world leaders, musicians, famous investors, business leaders etc have turned to Tony to help themselves TAKE ACTION (and get unstuck) -- he helps change your mindset, so that you want to take action, not only getting yourself unstuck, but accelerating towards the life you want in every area of life.

Great job - thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks so much Kate, really appreciate that and you mentioning Tony Robbin's excellent work. I've done alot of it and was fortunate enough to have done the firewalk at UPW.

You've inspired me to revisit his work. So powerful the way he gets you to take action.

Excellent words of wisdom and motivation Judy, GRATITUDE. I will be using this knowledge in all aspect of my life from this day moving forward. LOVE AND RESPECT. Namaste.

Thanks so much. Gratitude makes such a wonderful difference.
    Namaste.

Without being grateful it will be difficult to succeed in any aspect of life.

That is so very true. Thanks so much for commenting. :)

Whenever I get stuck, I'll try to think what are the things I can do when I succeed! This gives me motivation and puts me on track again! Thank you so much for the inspirational post.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate your comment. :)

A motivational post, Judy, we can all have those days when things don't go so well. So having that routine that gets us back on the move can be a really good thing.

Thanks, the routine sure makes the difference in keeping on track.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

    Thanks so much.

I do find music as a huge player in my productivity. Been hitting the gym more often lately too, feels great!

So powerful how music can lift you up and change your state. And the gym is such a good thing. Thanks :)

This is an excellent post. Gratitude is an important part of my day. Without it life is miserable. Thank you very much for your help today.

I am so happy and grateful now that I am upgrading my inner circle in WA with like minded people.

    Thanks

Thanks so much. We are so very fortunate to have the community here at WA. Makes a big difference. :)

Great post. Personally, most of the times when I get stuck, or demotivated or unproductive it is because my mind is racing and I am ’not in touch’ with me. I have to get out of my head, and into my body and find that inner stillness. A walk in nature, or just sitting watching the sky for a few minutes and connecting to my breath will do it. Call it meditation or whatever... From that inner stillness comes ideas, inspiration, and power to create. I recommend this on a daily basis a few times a day to get more ’space’ into your body and life. Makes wonders!

Thanks so much, that's a powerful way to get grounded. I was just listening to a podcast that spoke to body and mind not being in sync and you've articulated it perfectly. Will be doing this consciously tomorrow!

Great! Try to do this a few times every day - doesn’t take long - and you will soon find you have established a good habit you can’t do without.

My way of getting unstuck is to watch a good science fiction movie, reading spiritual books, read motivating quotes or take a walk in a park. You are right about gratitude:

"Somebody didn't wake up today, but you did.
That's enough reason to stop complaining, and
that's enough to be thankful for.
Never let your troubles blind you
to your daily blessings." - Trent Shelton

    Blessings, Judy.

Thank you so much. That's a really beautiful and very wise quote.
