Could This Be Another Scam?

I got a call from Financial Education Service. I did not call them, it was out of the blue. They wanted me to sign a contract and they would pay the first $100. and I wouldn't have to pay anything for three months. After that it would be $87. a month till the $2700. was paid. In return they would be helping me with my credit score, identity theft protection, and building somekind of business of which I'm still unsure of. They are out of Utah (red flag).

It of course all sounded good. I would like to know what others here think or if you have heard about this group. Also what are your thoughts on identity theft. Is anyone using company's like LifeLock or such. I would like to know which ones are the best. Thanks for any response.

Hope everyone is having a great day. :)

Welcome, have a blessed day, Merry Christmas!! :)

Yep scam. I to have got a lot of calls just ignor them. If it is inportant they will leave a. Message. Hope this helped. Happy Holidays

Thanks for your reply. Happy Holidays to you too. :)

I never give out information over the phone unless I've called them. I googled them and noticed that they had a bunch of reviews. Check it out. I've heard a lot about LifeLock and have been tempted to join them.

Thanks for answering, I think it's best too, to not give any info out. :)

Scam. Don't give financial information over the phone unless you know the place and called THEM.

Thanks for your reply, yep I'm not talking to them anymore. :)

I never do business over the phone

Barry

I think that is wise, and I am going to do the same. Thanks for your reply. :)

I did a Google search and found their website. It is a financial services MLM. I didn't take time to figure out how it works, but it is online. You can find it through Google.

I did some checking on them too, but didn't figure out the MLM part. Now I'm really glad I didn't sign up. Thanks for your reply. :)

Did you do a Google search for reviews on this company? It's sounds a bit shady to me.

Yes, I did look at their site a bit and just was not comfortable at all with them. Dwellman, above replied saying they are a MLM. Thanks for your reply. :)

I'm always on the lookout for scams to review so I'm glad you posted this :)

sounds fishy, run

Actually ... while chances are it is a scam, there are indeed some legitimate higher education loan payoff companies that the general public is mostly unaware of. If this is what the call was about, you may want to investigate them.

It was back in the late 90s that Congress passed a bill designed to relieve the huge debt burden of people repaying college debt.

There are about 4 or 5 different repayment loans options to choose from. The company that contacted me, however, was out of California.Yes, I did sign up with them about two years ago and am very glad I did so.

Hope this helps and God Bless!

I looked at their website and it all looks good, but I've been scammed so much that I am so skeptical that I didn't feel right about signing up with them.
I did find a legit company that is helping me with loans, but I found them and called them and they are helping.
Thanks for your response. Blessings back. :)

definitely a scam

Wow, what a fast reply, thank you Hilary, I was thinking that too. Thanks so much, I feel better now that I stuck to my guns and didn't sign up with them. :)
