Stealing my Article!
So, someone stole one of my articles and created a site with it. That was literally what the whole site was other than an opt in. Wow. It may be partially genius, but so wrong on many levels.

Article syndication and reproduction of your article with the links intact are great. The more the merrier. The issue I would have with this site is they are building an opt-in list with your work product. Now, the reality is you still have the affiliate links. But the bad news is they will have the mailing list and you have none as you don't have an opt in on your site. They may click through to your product but the other site will get repeat business. Not good.
Now I am really confused. I just don't see how someone can just steal your article. Of course, I am a newbie and don't know how it all goes. But isn't there something somewhere that protects us from something like this? I am so sorry they did this to you.
Pete is probably thinking like a marketing businessman. And people here will no doubt agree with him. I like to be asked before someone "borrows" my property. It's polite, if nothing else. And I think you should have credit too. Too many liberties over the Internet. They want it, they ask nicely.
I don't ever get "credit" for writing the articles when this happens to me, giving credit to me is leaving my links in there... Just wait until you start finding your articles out there without your links.. Then you will be real pi**ed.. haha No fun there..
Some people pay good money for plug-ins that do this for them.. If they made a whole website with your article, that means they are probably getting more traffic too... I don't know, I work hard to get my content and links out there as much as possible, seems a little silly that you do NOT want your link to get more traffic.. Oh well, to each his own I guess..
The graphics are not mine, but the title and the entire page is except for the first words in bold, the warning and the opt-in. I did see they left my links in, but they did not credit me on the article. I don't mind if someone adds it to their blog giving me credit and such since its just providing me a backlink, but to create a whole landing page with it?? That just seems wrong.
I see that person has a link at the bottom of the article to your website. There are websites that run on some plugin that take content from other websites and post a link back to their articles. They do this because most webmasters are okay with this, as they are giving them backlinks.
However, if you are not okay with this, you can just send them an e-mail and they will probably remove your article from their website. If they refuse to take your article down even after they don't then you can contact their hosting provider and they will take the appropriate action.
Terrible. You just wonder sometimes. Can you contact them? Did they take your graphics too?

I know the bitter feeling. It has happened to me several times. Stealing articles, that is. Like several said, more often than not people copy and paste so quickly they leave everything in tack. Let's look at the positive side here. Which got me over my anger. You must be a pretty good writer if another writer saw it and thought it was good enough to steal. In your case, while you are proof reading your articles and going through them, ...think about it. That article might be so appealing that you hold off submitting it and use the same script to make a website/blog with it. Then you will have two promoting your product/niche. 8^}
