My First WA Blog!

My name is Jodie and I'm writing my 1st WA Blog. Because...the lessons told me I needed to.
I joined WA on 3/27/16 and signed up for Premium that same day because I could see the value. I had just received a refund from another program that said they would help me build a website so I could promote my product. They were charging $97/month and I found that the training seemed very incomplete, did not really explain the ultimate end goal result, and I always had more questions at the end of a training.
Two weeks in, I followed all of their instructions, which at that point was only to create a FB page and get "likes." According to the program, we were on our way to start selling our product, and don't worry, if you don't have a product, they could help you with that. That's when I started to get that funny feeling...
So on the last webinar training that I attended, that's when everything fell into place...they were an MLM company and now that you are ready to sell, the product you should sell is theirs! And it wasn't cheap - $5000, but if you wanted to get the highest commission, you needed to spend $8,000! So my 1st question was, what if I already have my own product to sell? They asked what it was and coincidently, it was very similar to theirs, (but mind was pennies compared to their price), so they told me I couldn't take their training anymore and they would refund me. But I said, what if I want to keep up with the training? I want to learn how to build MY OWN business online - I'm not going to sell my product to their other "members" buying the training. And they just told me, no, it would confuse their members. So my conclusion was that they did all this song and dance just to promote their MLM! I wasted 2 weeks of my time on this.
In their training, they told us things like, be transparent on your FB page, otherwise they will flag you. yada yada yada....were they being transparent? I don't think so...
That's when I starting searching again and luckily I came across WA. Since 3/27/16, I bought my domain name, completed most of my pages, and have posting some blogs. At first, it was difficult to ask for feedback, being afraid that everyone would hate them. But I got good feedback, making me confident to keep going. I'm still a little confused with how to check for low competitive key words and how they help with ranking and figuring out what my own ranking is, but I'm just plugging away with the lessons.
Unfortunately, I still have not told my friends and family what I'm doing yet. My family must be wondering why I'm typing so much into the wee hours in the morning! But, just tonight, I mentioned it to my oldest daughter who has graphic design experience, and I asked her to take stab at creating my logo.
So that's where I am right now. Looking forward to the journey.

I'm sorry that you had to go through such a bad experience. Unfortunately, most of those sites do the same thing. Now, you're in a place that will help and support you with all you need to succeed. I'm a bit like you, I haven't told many people what I'm doing, just one person knows, and I'm not sure she's convinced. I don't care, I like what I'm doing and I'm here for the long run!!
