my website domain, which i have been paying for has completely disappeared with all my content? I am really confused and nervous why... I have been relatively dormant on there

Can you clarify, please? I am not sure I understand. Thank you :)

Are you still paying for the domain, or did that expire?

How long you have been dormant?

What is the domain?

Hi Janani,

Make sure to reach out to us via a SiteSupport ticket so that we can look into this for you and get things back online. I'll follow up with the team and have them keep an eye out for your ticket if you haven't already created one.

I hope you can recover it. I checked it and it went to some gaming advertisement in another language. Strange.

I know! I am so upset, I had so many articles and comments- I have been inactive for a while as I have been moving etc but really hope I can recover the content- i mean it's the internet so nothing's truly gone I hope... I am fine with giving up the domain and getting a new one if need be but want my content back :( I also usually receive an email saying domain is going to expire and I had it on auto renew too so when I didn't get either an email or a notification that it was expiring I totally didn't even remember to check

Yes that certainly is strange. Hopefully Phil or Kyle can figure something out for you. Fingers crossed.

What's your website's URL? I'll take a look.

myveggiehacks.com

it was set on auto renewal but the recipe blog is completely gone :(

can i recover it?

even if I can get the content back, I don't care I'll change the URL and get a different domain

Also, how can I figure out if there was some auto backup of the site prior to all of this? I really would be so devastated if all my content, comments, and everything are gone forever

The site comes up as an online gaming site in Thailand.

A Whois registry search says that the domain name was registered with GoDaddy in 2018 and is still current.

That all seems very strange. Does any of it ring a bell with you?

Did you register the domain name through Wealthy Affiliate?

You need to contact Site Support and ask about backups.

The really strange thing to me is that the domain name was registered with GoDaddy back in 2018.

I apologize for this question, but is there any chance that you are remembering the domain name incorrectly?

I created this website back in Feb, 2018. I did register this website through Wealthy Affiliate.

I believe that domain has been hacked or compromised.

I have never been to Thailand and no affiliation with any Thailand based gaming company.

You really need to contact Site Support about this and ask them to investigate. Domains registered through WA are with eNom, not GoDaddy so something strange has happened.

Also, myveggiehacks.com is a really odd name for a Thai gaming site.

Whois says that the domain was registered with GoDaddy in 2018, so there's something really strange going on. Hopefully, Site Support can untangle the history.

Hi WA community! I have recently begun using Delicious Recipes to make my recipes. I previously was literally just writing them up with no preformatted template etc. I don't mi

Hey Janani,

I have to be honest and say I have no idea how the Delicious Recipes plugin works.

But, as a guess, it will change the format of your articles, but as long as you keep the url/permalink intact then the comments will remain.

It's much the same as EDITING an article by completely deleting all the TEXT off an article while in edit mode, completely rewriting the article, and then clicking on publish.

The url remains the same, the comments at the end stay the same, but the entire article is different.

BUT, as I say, I have no idea how the plugin works, as I've never used it.

You can check out Kraft Plugins YouTube Channel, as they'll have a few tutorials on there, although it looks as though they are more geared to starting a website fresh with the plugin.

Thank you so much, I will check it out! I do want to edit the article in the format of delicious recipes without changing the URL for SEO purposes. Appreciate your help!!

You can edit everything (without migrating) except for changing the URL. If the URL changes, any established ranking will be lost. To Google, it would be considered a new post.

Thanks for your response! And yes you totally understood what I mean- I don't want to change the URL and mess up my rankings. do you how I can edit a post written in blank wordpress format into a plugin format?

Thanks! Do you think i could use that to just migrate the content over into a desired template without changing URL. and then because you said they can slow down websites, delete the helping aid altogether?
