When Business is All About Profit

I earned my bachelors degree way back 2010. My course, Bachelor of Science in Business Teacher Education, is a very interesting dual course for Business and Education. We were trained and prepared to enter both the world of business and the life of educating young minds.

After graduation, many of us engaged themselves in the business side of our course while others, including myself, preferred to teach. It is a little embarrassing to admit but those days were the time when I think I misunderstood what business is all about. The way it came to me, talking about business is all about earning, profits, investments, sales and the like. Nothing more.

That misconception is even more strengthened by my unfortunate encounter with people in this field who only think of earning more and more to the extent of sacrificing the health and well-being of their own people.

The Culture of Achieving More and Caring Less

"Business as usual" is an expression that provoked negative memories of having the "earning" or "profit" part of the business as the top priority. It is like meeting different people and in every encounter, all they see is this dollar sign instead of their human faces. Caring for others is the least priority. I even remember somebody telling me, "You know, that caring thing is not good for business."

That was too harsh but luckily I am saved by meeting business minded people who are standing on the other side of the fence. They believe that their business is grounded in the needs of the people that has to be fulfilled.

The More You Give, the More You Receive

In a way, Wealthy Affiliate has saved me by showing me the other face of the business world --the business that has "helping" at the very core of everything we are supposed to do. Know what people are looking for, anticipate the problems they might be trying to solve and offer a possible solution.

Help and assist your fellow WA members. Bond and build friendship with one another within the community since doing these is easily facilitated by how WA platform is designed. Welcome new members and make difficult things in the training easier for them. Here, the more you care, the more you will achieve. As of now, I am enjoying giving and receiving comments for our niche websites.

How about the "earning" aspect of the business? It will surely come. Today marked my one month as a Premium member. I am not yet earning any monetary profit but I gained more than what money can offer, thus I am grateful. I already earned a lot in that short period of time. Will see what more will come...
