We are in a world where we are constantly bombarded with information, drama and conflict. As we get home, we turn the television on and it is not turned off until we go to bed. When we are on the road we are listening to news. The stations always start with the sensational news to get our attention. The stories of conflict in the USA, the Middle East and the Far East are rolled out all day in repetition ad nauseam.

A lifestyle like this puts us and keeps us on high alert all the time. We are plunged into a’What is this world coming to?’ State of mind.

Let us choose to live in an awareness of peace that comes from turning off a lot of this outside noise and schedule regular breaks to regain our balance.

There is peace somewhere. Let’s find it !

Well said!
We should all take a breath instead of a brake ;)

For sure

It's no wonder people, including our youth, are so unhappy, all the negativity thrown at us by the media is soul destroying. I actually found peace here at WA. Jim

Yes Jim, we all need to calm down or we will get sick

I love the quiet! There is rarely a TV on in here; the countryside is quiet; so is the house. Peaceful, the way I like it.

Very nice

I rarely watch TV, especially news, something I decided to stop years ago. Its always so negative.
I agree it's better to find peace and learn from the silence.

Why listen to the news at all. It is always bad. Good news is just not newsworthy enough to be mentioned.

It is 20:10 as I write this and the TV is not on. Both my wife and I are at our computers with no outside distraction.

Sometimes we just have to remember what the on/off switch is for. lol

Derek

Good move, Derek. No need to fill up on the negative stuff

I certainly see your point in that journalists can be overzealous, but. I am especially thankful for a free media. Yes, newspeople can get noisy.
