Terrible referral rate!
So, I have been with WA for roughly six weeks now, and I seem to be making a steady amount of referrals.
The problem is, none are completing their account profile! They are signing up, having a quick browse, and then leaving again.
I have made 21 referrals, and only three have completed their account profile!!
And to make matters worse, 3 of those were friends from work, of which 2 completed their account profile set-up.
So that's 18 organic referrals, and only 1 of which have completed their account!
I guess the problem is this: There was a popular FBook ad promoting the use of casinos over scratchcards, and someone commented by saying that he had written an affiliate article and he was still getting a commission from it. Many people jumped on this asking him how he did it. I saw the opportunity to try to promote WA, and I posted my affiliate link explaining that Wealthy Affiliate can teach anyone.
I woke the next day to find I'd made three referrals, and three weeks later I am still making referrals, although none show the slightest bit of interest.
The lesson of the story: always "target" your target audience (obviously).
It's going to be tough maintaining a 5% conversion rate when I cannot even keep a 5% profile account set up rate :(

The best thing about organic traffic is they are already searching for your post. They are looking for your information. That means when they get to your site they aren't a cold lead. The rest is up to you after that. If you help them by showing them they will likely sign up.
Yes, you are correct. The conversion rate from traffic that has actively searched for me via search engines will be much higher than traffic directed through advertising on social media!
Yes, keep it up. It isn't going to happen overnight.
At least it hasn't happened to me yet.....LOL

Yes, I am very persistent and dedicated, and I do intend to keep this going for the long haul. Nevertheless, at this stage it is still a bit frustrating!
Good to hear from you Dismanny, how are you? Hows your site coming along? Mines been pretty slow as of late
I gave up on my site. I decided I do not want to spend the energy on it that it truly takes to monetize a blog. I'm not done with it, but I'm done trying to "rank" it. From here on, I'll be blogging my experience on it, when I feel the need, and will no longer worry about "low hanging fruit". You may have seen my blog post, that I've given up. I have. I'm done thinking this is going to be a great monetary device for me. But that's why I went yearly - I knew that was going to happen. I still have 313 days before my membership here expires, and plan on starting another site in another niche. Just don't know what that is.
The struggle with the original "niche" continues.
Yuriy.
Well, if it's any consolation, I have been working very slowly on mine, I haven't given up per-say, but, given the fact that I am in the "make money online" niche, I have been exploring all different ways to make money online to then write about, and I have discovered "matched betting", which is a very lucrative, prosperous money making strategy, and I have made almost £500 in a month. That activity seems to be taking up all my time, so I'm just writing one article a week on a Sunday to keep my site going.
My advice to you is to fill out those 2 blank pages you have. Blank pages can do nothing other than de-rank your site, but if you spend the time to write just a few more pages to complete the framework of your site before moving on, you may find that your site lasts a lot longer, and at the very least, will help people in the same boat as you and I. Even if you cannot monetize from your site, at least your work will not have been in vain :)
All the best bud
Well, I think most people hope to find the easy button, and when they don't see it immediately, blinking brightly, they go over to the next promising easybutton opportunity. Don't worry, it takes time. And people need to NEED this just now, otherwise they are not enough interested to put energy in.
Yes, you are correct, and Wa is not the "get rich quick" scheme that people probably hope it to be. Their loss!!
Yes, their loss, and our gain - when we make it to get through the tons of difficulties we meet, especially when we are complete newbies.
I will admit, it is nice every now and then to see the email notification on the screen of my phone telling me that I have made a referral. Every time I see it I think to myself "I wonder if this person will take an interest this time.... perhaps I'll make my first sale :)
I think it's way too early in the game for you to be looking at sales ratios. Your site hasn't even had long enough time to saturate in SERPs. I'd encourage you to just keep making content and keep with the faith!
I know it's tough, but this is slow and steady wins the race all the way. You'll get more traffic over time, become a better writer, and gain more authority. You'll start referring more eventually. :)
You're exactly right - it is still WAY too early. My WA review is somewhere on page 19 of Google, it will only get higher with the more content I create.
Those that type in "Wealthy Affiliate review" are the specific target I'm after (or to be precise "Is Wealthy Affiliate the real deal" which is my targetted keyword, which is on page 6 at the mo)
Yep - new and low-content websites have an issues of site authority... That just gets better in time :)

Are you getting their email so you can stay in touch with them. You have to warm up the list by providing valuable information. You cannot sell before your list trusts you. If you are sending a sales pitch before you build trust you are wasting valuable leads.
Very good advice - my link that I posted on FBook was a landing page for WA, so I wasn't able to get any email addresses.
Cheers for the valuable advice!
